Why is my Signal QR code not working?

How do I transfer my Signal to my new Android phone?

I upgraded my Signal to a new Android phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 4) over the weekend, and can't access my Signal. The connection information is still there on my old phone, but I can't figure out how to get the old version of the app to run on my new phone. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this?

Open the app settings in the Google Play store on your old phone and disable the old signal app from being reinstalled when you update your software. This will prevent the app from being updated while it's running on your old phone.

Open up the app settings in the Google Play store on your new phone and click on uninstall under the signal app. It will uninstall the signal app, no need to worry about deleting any data from your signal app.

Make sure that the data/files from your signal app that you'd like to transfer to your new device doesn't include any personal information (eg account login). If it contains any personal information such as your password it could give other people access to that information if they are able to use your Google Account to sign in. The safest way to prevent this is to not store passwords in any online accessible way.

You can use a simple tool like Keepass (free open source) to keep track of your passwords and other account information and sync them to your new device if you're concerned about someone else accessing your Google account from the app. After uninstalling the signal app, the connection info in your settings on the Google Play store should also be available to your new device if you signed in with a Google Account prior to the upgrade. If you don't have a Google Account, you'll need to use your device's email address and set up a password when you first set it up.

How do I open a QR code on my Signal?

Scan a QR code to access your messages, phone call or message history.

When you scan a QR code, the Signal app will open and you'll be able to read your messages or talk with your contacts.

When you scan a QR code from your mobile device, the App automatically opens. It also shows you the status of the transaction, when it's completed and if the QR code was not recognized.

If a QR code is scanned on a desktop browser, the web page will be opened, but the app won't open automatically. If you want to open your app, click the button in the bottom right corner.

Scan a QR code in a desktop browser. The Signal app will automatically open if a QR code is scanned in a desktop browser. You can scan multiple codes in one browser tab.

It doesn't matter which browser you are using, as long as it has support for scanning QR codes. Some browsers let you scan multiple codes at once, some don't.

Why is my Signal QR code not working?

I've created a QR code that directs to a website.

In the instructions, it says that the website will be displayed on the first page of the website. When I scan the QR code, nothing happens. The website isn't displayed. What's wrong?

I don't think it is about the code but more about the fact that you have added your own website in the QR code. It should be a link or rather a reference to your website. You can test this by creating an e-mail address as a part of the link and send an email to it.

If you want to use your own website, you must add the HTTP scheme (which in this case is http://) to your URL. To get a working example, try this: It will generate a QR code that points to google.com.

How do I link devices to my Signal QR code?

To link your QR code, simply add the number of items you would like the QR code to reflect in the number of boxes next to each device on the shopping cart page.

The number is reflected as a text box at the top of each box on the product page. You can then easily select these boxes to input the number of devices you would like to link by clicking on the 'Select' button and selecting the number of boxes.

When you have selected the number of boxes you wish to link, click on the 'Add' button. The product will now be linked to all the devices in the boxes you have selected.

How do I select devices in my Signal QR code? To add devices in your QR code, simply select the boxes on the 'Add' page and then select the boxes that you would like to connect. After selecting the boxes you would like to connect, click on the 'Add' button and the number of devices will be linked in the box you have selected. If you do not wish to link any devices click on the 'cancel' button.
