I am trying to find a common street name for my street. I have already narrowed it down to one, but it is not listed in the "Street Names" list. How do I find a common street name?
It's a long story. I live in a cul-de-sac in the middle of a subdivision. There are a total of 11 streets in the subdivision and only 1 of them is officially named. The others are simply numbered.
I have found that most people in the neighborhood just go with the numbers or the numbered street (for example, 2nd Street, 3rd Street, etc.). I don't mind that as much as some do, but I am interested in knowing if there are any common street names in the neighborhood. For instance, if I wanted to sell my house, would it be easier to give them the common street name or the official street name?
Re: What are common street names? 1st Street is a common name in my area. 2nd Street, 3rd Street, 4th Street, 5th Street, 6th Street, 7th Street, 8th Street, 9th Street, 10th Street, and 11th Street are all common names in my area. There is no "common name" per se, unless you can find a name that is used on most of the roads in the area. If you know the numbering system, and don't want to use the numbering system, you could always use a combination of numbers and letters for your own personal street.

What is a popular street name in California?
I wonder.
My first thought is PCH, but you know how the people of California don't pay attention to the Pacific Ocean, and they have a thing for highways that go to places without towns, or towns that aren't the places that are full of tourists and retirees who drive big cars. Maybe a different one. What's a street in California named after a town? Is it the name of the place where the street is located? Or a town that was named by someone else and the name stuck? Can we get "Ducktown?" I can live with that, and I think there are plenty of residents of California in the world who would love to have their own "Ducktown." There are certainly plenty of people in the world who live by the sea, and if the state of California were to follow suit, it would seem like a logical thing for them to do. So, what's the best street name that refers to the ocean and isn't named after a town?
I don't think it was an actual street. It is a part of the name of a city in California. The actual street is called Hwy 1 and it is the same name as the Interstate Highway of California.
