How to connect to Wi-Fi if you're blocked?
(How can your Wi-Fi service provider possibly give you a connection if you're not logged in?)
We are not even there yet but when I see how the UK government handles this case we will be in for some troubles. The way our country work is not new, my parents from south Wales lived under those rules for a long time (I remember going for years without internet connection) however my mom and dad decided that enough is enough and got a cable modem. My brother and sister was born afterwards, and now they're all connected and can live a much better life.
It seems ridiculous to go back to such rules as it's 2026, but when it's about your privacy it's important to take control. My guess is that the government is looking for ways to bring back the control that people need over their connection but there is a huge problem with it. When you don't have control of your own data, what you access or use on the internet is no longer yours.
When you are blocked you do get the chance to contact them and give them the information required to find out what the mistake is. However the fact that it has not been fixed after 2 years shows they are looking at ways to get your data in their hands. I have been looking into this problem for quite a while and I have read about many others that I know and I'm convinced that I will be the only one with a solution so far. So my hope for now is to have the solution and put it online. Update: it has now been fixed! It takes 2 days to roll out the fix though, just keep refreshing until it works again! Here is the source that I have used to fix this issue for myself and hopefully others that want to resolve this issue: My name is Martin, I'm the founder of www.xamarin.com, creator of Xamarin
Studio. We provide Visual Studio add-ons for iOS and Android development for ASP.NET developers.
Thanks, I've been trying to get some help on this but never have I ever seen an app that has actually resolved the issue.
How do I turn off parental controls on Wi-Fi?
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. On my Android phone (Nexus One) I have Parental Controls enabled, but if I connect to the Wi-Fi network at school, the Wi-Fi parental controls are not enabled. How do I enable them for all networks, and just Wi-Fi networks?
Thanks. Answer: How to Disable Parental Controls in Wi-Fi Networks. Hi
Thanks for taking time to share your concern with us. As you rightly mentioned, you have applied the Parental Controls on your Nexus One after updating to Android 2.1 Eclair. There might be several ways of doing this, some quick and dirty while others are for expert users. Let's have a look on what we know so far, and see what can we do in your situation:
Solution 1: Turn off parental controls if you have only few Wi-Fi networks. This option is most likely to become a right way of doing it. If you have only few Wi-Fi networks or only one, then its easy way of getting rid of this problem. To disable parental controls, open the application settings. Click on parental control, and select the Off option. This won't turn off everything related to parental control, only Wi-Fi related parental control will be stopped by this. Note that it will automatically enable the other settings as well. So if you are in the middle of taking a long test on the phone, you can take out the connection. This trick works for all networks except 3G networks. When connected on 3G network, parental controls will always remain disabled. Note that even once you will disconnect the Internet connection, parental controls will remain, which is against the security protocol adopted. If you really don't want the parents to see what you get up to over the phone, don't forget to enable the firewall.
Solution 2: Revert to old version of Android. If you have previously installed earlier version of Android and the update to Eclair have broken your parental controls on Wi-Fi network, then you have the only option, turn to the oldest operating system version of Android.
How do you unblock Wi-Fi on iPhone?
There are a lot of ways to unblock your Wi-Fi on iPhone.
Some people like to use third-party apps to do this. If you're one of those who don't like third-party apps, here are some methods that don't require any third-party apps.
If you have an Apple device, then you can use "airport status" from Settings app to block or unblock your Wi-Fi easily. AirPort Status is a useful feature in Apple's settings, that enables you to see whether your Wi-Fi connection is secure, and if the signal strength is good.
If your Wi-Fi connection is encrypted and you'd like to switch it off, you can just follow these steps: Open the Settings app. Go to General > Wi-Fi.e. Press the toggle switch at the bottom of the page toggle Wi-Fi off. Use Control Center toggle Wi-Fi off/on again. If you can't switch off your Wi-Fi because it's set as the default, you can just turn off the Wi-Fi router and it will turn off automatically. If you need to turn off your Wi-Fi manually, here is how: How do I block the Wi-Fi? Go to Settings > General > Wireless & VPN. Tap on the Wi-Fi switch at the bottom. Tap on the switch toggle on/off. To make it easy for you to remember which one is the blocked and which one is the unblocked one, you can label the Wi-Fi that is already blocked with a sticker (or something else) to tell the difference. You'll see two types of labels below: A label that has a line through it. A label that has an arrow over it. The first label means your Wi-Fi is turned off, while the second one means your Wi-Fi is turned on. You'll also notice that your iPhone will also display this label on the top right corner of the screen.
How to block Wifi network on iPhone? For iOS 11 and later. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.e. At the top, you will see a new option: "Wi-Fi networks". Tap on that to turn off the Wi-Fi network.

How to change Wi-Fi restrictions?
The following table illustrates the Wi-Fi restrictions that you can select from to restrict Wi-Fi use: Table: Restrict Wi-Fi Access.
Selecting Wi-Fi Restrictions on Your Network will restrict access to Wi-Fi services only to your users. You will be able to make these restrictions as per your need.
For example, if you want to restrict access to some network for your guests, you may select Guest Wi-Fi restriction of Select Guests list. On the other hand, if you want to restrict access to network for anyone, except for a particular category of users such as your own employees or customers then you can select Employee Wi-Fi restriction and Customer Wi-Fi restriction of Select Users list.
Note: You can also disable access to the internet with select Wi-Fi restriction of Disable Wi-Fi.e. It may be an excellent option for your home or for business when it is needed to disable internet access. This feature blocks Wi-Fi access to your guest and allows you to restrict users or devices from accessing internet, by selecting Wi-Fi Restriction tab in Network Settings.
Restrict Wi-Fi access with your mobile and tablet devices. You can take one or more Wi-Fi hotspots available in your vicinity into consideration, when you select the Wi-Fi Hotspot type and its location as per your need. This will help you to decide whether you want to use the Wi-Fi hotspot or not. By default, when you register a new hotspot, it will get activated automatically. The default service area for hotspot is your country or the geographical area in which you live. If you want to activate the hotspot in a broader area, you can specify the address of any physical point to which you want to extend the coverage of your hot spot.
You can choose to connect your mobile or tablet device to the public Wi-Fi hotspot, when it is available. The hotspot will be connected as per the connection mode of your device. By default, Wi-Fi hotspots are connected via mobile networks. But you can also use them in 3G or 4G networks. Check this video for detailed steps on how to create Wi-Fi hotspot on your smartphone.
In case, you don't want to activate a public hotspot, you can create a private hotspot. To do this, follow the steps given below.
