Does Adblock Plus work on Android Chrome?

I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it doesn't seem to be working.

I've enabled blocking ads and cookies in the mobile settings, but the ads still appear.

I've tried downloading the AdBlock Plus for Android from the Play Store, but when I install it, it says the app doesn't have a compatible profile for my phone. Does anyone have any ideas? ? I don't know why your adblocker doesn't work on mobile chrome, however it works on the desktop. (not android, but windows).

I'm not sure if you already know this, but there is an extension for mobile chrome. It's called "Adblocker Plus", and it's one of the best ad-blockers on the market. This is because your phone doesn't have a compatible profile. I have the same problem, and when I download the .apk from the play store, it gives me the same error. I installed it on my wife's phone (Galaxy S4) and it works perfectly fine. You might have to re-install it, and re-check the settings again.

Can I do that with an extension? I don't think so, because if I do that, I have to uncheck every site that has ads, and that makes no sense. So, what do you suggest? Chrome Android ads only show up on sites that are not google owned, so when a user clicks on a google-owned website, the ad does not show. The way to get rid of these ads is to remove the search bar in Chrome's settings.

Re: Is it possible to block ads on Chrome Android? I do not see an option like that on the ad settings. You can block those ads by clearing the search bar. Click Settings. Tap More, then Manage Search Engines. Select Google Chrome in the list of search engines. Tap Clear search history and data. (Do this for all search engines.) Now the ads will not appear on sites that are not Google-owned. Chrome users are free to use any add-on or extension. If you click the back button, the ads will reappear. This is what I would suggest. There is an add-on called Adblock Plus that has extensions for other devices like Chrome. It's pretty simple to use and pretty much eliminates the ads that way. If you don't want to download it, you can do a factory reset and then use the "Remove everything" option to remove any programs that you may have installed.

Adblock Plus works fine on Chrome for Android. The only reason I said to use Chrome is because it doesn't get as much attention as Android usually does. If you are a developer, I would suggest Google's tools rather than the regular add-on. When I was looking for an ad blocker that could be used on my Android, I saw the Android version of Adblock Plus had been discontinued.

When you click on the settings icon, it opens a menu on the right side of the screen where you can choose the different options. The first option is "Google Chrome". This is the only option to select.

Why do the ads on Chrome seem so intrusive and annoying to me? The site is about content, not advertising, so it makes no sense. But the advertisements seem to be so much part of the browser and I can't remove them without also removing Chrome. So it doesn't really matter what extension you use because when I switch to something else, that extension takes over the entire browser. And then the question is, Where can you go that the ads aren't so intrusive and annoying? For instance, I know you can use a Firefox Addon, but I have such a bad allergic reaction to everything I use. Even Firefox isn't comfortable for me.

Is Adblock Plus the ONLY Google Chrome ad-blocking extension? Because it seems like everyone needs it. And if the others are less useful, I'd rather stay with them than Adblock Plus.

The answer is Not all ad blocking extensions work perfectly. Some require the add-on to perform a number of different functions. If those functions are disabled (as it was done with the original Adblock Plus), the add-on may become unstable, slow down your browser and even crash.

I've only experienced this once so far with ABP (in 2010), and so far AdBlock Plus is the only Chrome ad blocker extension I've seen that won't cause my Firefox browser to crash or significantly slow down a browser. If you're going to use a free solution that has ads in Chrome, AdBlock Plus appears to be the only viable option for me so far. And I don't know why anyone would want a browser that crashes when they don't need to? Do you want your browser to slow down when it doesn't need to? I find adblocking can either better or worse depending on the experience you have. I personally prefer the experience where my browser isn't constantly slowing down as if the only thing I have in mind is adverts. It seems to me that a browser should only slow down when I ask for it to.

First of all, I've been using Adblock for Chrome for Android on my Samsung S4 since it was released (as of March 2014). I know it's not perfect but works quite well. However, you have to enable the block ads setting (as shown in the picture below), otherwise the ad banners are displayed instead of the reddit page.
