AdGuard's DNS server always listens on the wildcard address all.ipv4.arpa and does not listen on the specific addresses that are defined in your DNS resolvers' config files. This prevents DNS spoofing, since the attacker needs to be able to control all the DNS names and IP addresses to successfully redirect your browser to his site or server.

By listening on the wildcard address, AdGuard's DNS server also benefits you, since it makes it easier for you to add new DNS names, and you can use it as an address verification service. However I am interested whether AdGuard DNS is also useful in practice, or whether it should be replaced with better solutions. I need such functionality which should be easy to use (for all Windows users). ?

I've been using it in place of DNS and am quite happy with it. However you will have to manage the client machine which does introduce an additional barrier to using it.

Personally I would not recommend adding anything new to the mix if it has additional limitations. However, AdGuard can easily be modified to suit your needs. Also there are other good options such as Cloudflare DNS.
