Do you have to pay for OpenVPN?

The whole point of using OpenVPN is to hide all your traffic.

You have two options: Use "off the record" communications - that is unencrypted but requires you to pay money to someone else to host and maintain an encrypted tunnel (your VPN provider) Open up a server at home. Then encrypt all your traffic as it passes through the tunnel. This may end up being costly in terms of internet bandwidth, although the same company that may be hosting the VPN service could offer a limited bandwidth rate for their VPN Service at a small fee. The cost of providing the VPN service will likely be much lower than the cost of paying for a static IP address that provides unencrypted communications from your own home network. This latter option can be done at almost no cost at all, usually only costs money for a static address to place on the web.

This sounds like free VPN software to be honest and if that is the case then the solution does not work! You'll need to use some kind of OpenVPN client application in order to make the connection to your server. Here's what we found out.

The NSA, along with other state-sponsored and private companies, have been heavily involved in the development of OpenVPN in order to create a secure network that is easily scalable and can withstand attacks from hackers. In addition to this, OpenVPN is open source, meaning that you can inspect the code yourself to find any issues or vulnerabilities that may exist in the code. Despite this, there are a number of reasons why some people will be hesitant to use OpenVPN for free. There are three main reasons that you may not want to use OpenVPN for free, and here are some examples: OpenVPN does not encrypt traffic on your behalf. As an alternative to a VPN service, OpenVPN encrypts data on your computer or router directly.
