How do I change my restrictions passcode on my iPad if I forgot it?
Moreover, how do I change it so that I don't forget it?
This is essentially the story of my recent endeavour of changing my passcode on an Apple iPad 4 because I forgot it. It was second time in this year, that I forgot my password and I was thinking of resetting my iPad after the inability to regain access to it. So, I took the required steps and unlocked my iPad. Though, I was relieved, but very perturbed by the thought of losing my important pictures. Hence, I decided to change my passcode immediately, not even letting myself to take for granted that it'll happen.
So, here's how I successfully changed my passcode on an iPad. I knew from the start, I needed a backup of my data to remain safe in case I forgot my passcode. Since I didn't take any backup at the time of changing the passcode, I took quite long time to schedule a time to restore my data. So, first step was to schedule a time for the restore process without losing the present iPad. And since there's no scratchable passcode on an iPad, to unlock the device, passcode has to be entered now. Hence, it was the time to take serious look at what wrong I did the previous time to forget my passcode.
Why Not Just Type In My Password Again - Everyday Password : Apple's dream is to con you, so that you always type in your password. Even after you type in your password, it is not for the good reason, but it helps Apple to track the bad guys, since all the actions you made are super easy to track. By default, Apple iOS unlock the device like this. You don't see a password, rather you type in your default password. Yes, you heard it right, default password which is controls your Apple device become the entry point to your device. This may not be the best idea to date, after all the bad guys are smart, and they will try to find methods to defeat the strong security. Also, because you type in the password, Apple iOS everywhere makes back-up your data, and transmit the same in cloud. It becomes easy for the bad guys to panick and catch the individuals in the spirals of a nervous breakdown.
