How do I force my iPhone to factory reset X?
I want to force a reset of the phone.
It's jailbroken and I want to clean it up. What is the quickest way to do that?
EDIT: I mean in iOS, not in OS X! Here is a thread explaining how to do this. In short, you will have to use Terminal on your phone and the following commands: sudo icloudreset -j. Sudo killall 'lockd'. Once you have entered these two commands in Terminal (replacing lockd with the PID of the lockd process on your phone), hold the power button down for about a second. This will completely reset your phone and once complete, will log you out of iCloud and restore your phone back to the factory settings.

To be clear, I'd had no idea that the phone had been locked, and I never bothered to set a passcode. I found the "Restore to factory settings" option in my Settings app and restored the phone to its original condition. All of the data was restored as well. I have no idea how this could have happened, but I'm still fairly baffled. Anyway, I think I will be able to keep the phone safe now, but I wanted to share this story in case anyone else is trying to solve the same problem.
