Why does school wifi block Netflix?
Recently a friend of mine got some new internet connection.
I saw that it was a 4G type connection. My other connections have always been wifi so I wasn't really surprised. I was wondering why my school wifi blocked Netflix streaming, but it turns out that my school connection blocks all websites, not just Netflix. I would like to know why.
What do you mean? I use a netgear router and when I go to the home page on my computer it says "Your connection is not private and will be exposed to the Internet". And then it says: "The content you requested is available to view on Netflix". I am not sure if it is working correctly, because I can't see the movie. If you go to the site, there are two pages. One is the "Public Page" that shows a list of all websites that you can visit, and the second one is the "Private Page" where only your school can access the site.
The Public Page displays all public sites, while the Private Page displays only the ones your school can access. It's kind of odd that the Private Page doesn't work, but the Public Page works fine. However, I have no idea why it didn't work the first time you tried it. The Public Page should display your school network as well as any other public websites.
Can't you call tech support for your school? If you want me to be more specific, please provide more details. If you are not in school, you are not going to be able to tell them what's wrong. This is a different problem than your original question about Netflix and my school's wifi.e. This is a problem that I am having with my router.
