You may know that the purpose of the website is to provide motivation to learn French for people who want to learn French but do not have time. I know that if I had done that from when I started, I would have been very discouraged because the only thing that I knew how to do was to take notes in class.

It makes me think about why I'm interested in doing French and also being motivated to learn to speak French and learning words and sentences is a huge factor in it. Motivation has an extremely powerful effect on our brain. The brain is designed to change. How do you help someone who is motivated to learn?

1) You need to find something that gets you excited to learn. Maybe I love history, so I find a lot of pleasure in learning new things about historical figures or cultures. 2) I believe that I feel motivated because I find it interesting. Learning new stuff gets you excited. It excites you to go out and try something new. For example, there are lots of ways to try French. I have French friends that talk with you face-to-face. I have people that speak French over Skype or on Instagram. But one thing that was always really important to me that I didn't appreciate well at first, is learning French through French TV shows. Watching television in French (not just watching the show, but watching the language) makes learning easier and more fun. That's when the true excitement starts. Because what was once just a way to entertain me and pass the time turned into my most valuable tool for learning. As I learned to speak French better and I started enjoying it, the motivation followed. I started watching French movies and reading French books. It became a passion and I realized that now, learning was the most fun and creative part of my life.

3) We all have different motivations to learn. I think that when I got out of university, there were lots of expectations on me.
