How do I find the latitude and longitude of my location?
The latitude and longitude of your location can be obtained from the Location object's latitude and longitude values.
The code would look something like this: var x = new String("40.7"); //lat var y = new String("-72.92"); //lng var a = parseFloat(x.toString()); var b = parseFloat(y.toString()); var c = Math.cos(Math.sin(Math.acos(b / c)));
Var g = Math.atan((b/c))); var h = Math.tan(Math.atan2(h, Math.tan(0.atan2(Math.tan(0.PI).atan(Math.tan(0.toFixed(2);
The result should give you a latitude and a longitude in metres. You can easily get the position by the code below. Var lat:Number = null;. Var lng:Number = null;. Navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(success, error);
Function success(position:Position). The position variable contains all information of the user. In this example we have just latitude and longitude.
To show it on the map, we need to set it as center:
How do I show latitude and longitude on my Iphone?
I know that there are a lot of plugins to show the map on iPhone.
What I want is simple - I want to show latitude and longitude (as in maps). I have checked out my phone - both iPhome and GoogleMaps shows the latitude and longitude. But why does my phone not show it? The only thing that I'm doing is opening GoogleMaps application - longtude and latitude shows fine. And my phone shows the "0" (not the numbers).
I read some answers about the plugin but they are too technical. I want the very basic. How can I get the latitude and longitude for my current location on the iPhone?

If you have your iPhone with you, point the camera at the sky (or the ground, depending on the type of iPhone), and see if the latitude and longitude are shown. If not, you either need to have an app to do it, or you don't have any apps installed (which means no GPS chip).
Thanks for replies. However, the latitude and longitude shows up even without the camera pointing to the sky. I don't have any apps installed either. But then how do I get latitude and longitude? I think it may be done by the phone itself but don't have the details in my head.

What do you mean I need to take a picture?
I take a picture every day because of the beauty of the sky. How else can I ever hope to be good at something with that attitude? What does my phone do? Well, I'll answer that by pulling up your phone from the table and explaining to you what it is like to look through that digital camera on top of it. It's sort of like looking out one eye of a peep-show peep (as my friend in the front row was so kind as to call it.) When you look through it you find that the digital world is a two-dimensional thing.
Imagine sitting in front of a television. You sit there but when you watch that screen they show only an image on the screen. You have no idea how big the television is or what all the parts of the electronic system are. The TV can receive only an image. The image is two-dimensional. If someone gave you a book of photographs or a magazine of photographs, do you know how much time it would take to read through them?
The thing about digital photography is that all pictures come out perfectly 2-dimensional. In my class, we always work on images that are two-dimensional. A three-dimensional object gives us more to work with than a 2-dimensional object. When we work on a three-dimensional object we put it in three dimensions. We use a 3D camera and put the image onto a three-dimensional surface and add lights and shadows.
Digital photography takes that 2-dimensional version of the 3-dimensional object that comes out perfectly, flattens it and makes it a perfect 2-dimensional image. In order to get a 3D image you need to take a 2-dimensional photograph that reflects the three-dimensional shape and then you make the image flat and print it so that everyone gets the same image.
That's why every time a photograph is printed, it's flattened. So I pull up the website of my phone that you told me not touch, and I pull up an image of the night sky. I can zoom in to see the Moon or I can zoom out to see the entire sky.
