There are two species that look like that. One is a free-living form of Halobacterium; the other is a type of crenarchaeal form of Archaeoglobus that lives on the surfaces of deep-sea hydrothermal vents. For the latter I would ask you to go to a site like the ones in your post. There you will see it quite well.
The scientific name for the Thermoproteota is Thermoproteus. For the Archaeoglobus, I don't know if there is an exact description. It is one of the crenarchaeal division, so I would guess something like Crenarchaeota; but I don't know.
Here is some information from Wikipedia about Archaeoglobus: "Archaeoglobus is a genus of Archaea, which includes the hyperthermophilic and acidophilic chemolithoautotrophic marine bacterium "Archaeoglobus fulgidus", and the halophilic archaeon Archaeoglobus profundus, which isolated from hypersaline lakes and oceans." I will let you see for yourself when you are not working, that they are quite fascinating organisms. I am still quite interested in trying to grow these organisms to make their own food. The reason why I say this is because, although I have a lot of experience growing bacteria and suchlike, I still have not seen anything like this. I will ask you again, to visit the sites and see it for yourself.
I don't know the scientific names of the organisms you are viewing, but you could try to find out what they are. When they grow into larger colonies like you see them doing here, I would expect them to be named Thermoprotea or some such.
Here's an interesting video showing Archaeoglobus (Archaea) at work. They're very similar to Thermoproteus, and you can see the similarities.
In many ways it is a rather simple organism, and yet it still remains a mystery. I would think that the simplest of its kind would better at surviving without other organisms around. So the question arises: why is it living with others?
