Is taste film worth it?
In his review of the documentary The Taste of Tea, my friend Ben Merens wrote Taste film is never a good thing and this one is no exception.
I don't know what he was thinking, but the film itself is an exceptional example of the genre.
When I first watched it, I thought that the reviewer was talking about a film with the title of Taste. But then I realized that the film title is actually The Taste of Tea, and I immediately thought, Ben Merens! How did I miss that? That was a good reminder that I should stick to reading the film reviews, instead of reading the comments.
This film is a documentary about food, drink and their relationship to the human race, as seen through the lens of the director. It tells the story of a Taiwanese family's journey from living in a cave to becoming a rich family of seven, and their struggle to create a drink that will be popular and accepted by society. The film is based on the memoir of the same name by the director and his wife.
After watching the documentary I found the message it delivers to be a fairly obvious one. But it's still a powerful one that many people will be able to relate to.
When I watch a documentary, I usually want to connect with the people it's about. I want to understand them and empathize with their struggles. This documentary has that effect on me, and many others too.
I hope you get to watch it if you haven't seen it already.] How did it go for you? Like this: Like Loading.
How hard is it to get taste film tickets?
I have an oddball situation because I want to see Taste but in the US it's playing in a tiny place that has only been screening for a few days.
I've heard that it's really hard to get tickets for even the most anticipated films, so I figure it can't be that hard to get in for this one. Is there any way around it?
The problem with this movie is that it's not exactly huge in this country and it's not as big a deal as it should be. The movie isn't that great and the only reason it's so important to me is because I worked on the set and met the cast. The only thing stopping me from being pissed off at the whole thing is that none of the cast members were at this premiere (the movie is basically the reunion of the entire cast of the first movie), which just made it seem more pointless, because I don't think there were many people there in the first place.
Taste was good, but really not my favorite. It really needs to be a blockbuster to get my attention.
I feel you man. Its been years since I saw any of the cast. But I had to see it, and what a strange experience.
"The best strategy in life is to take no strategy. The meaning of life is to discover at the end that you weren't looking for a strategy in the first place."
If you like it, you'll love it. And if you loved it, then you'll buy it.
That's it, really. Taste is one of the best films I've seen in years, but I've seen nothing else like it. If I see the same sort of movie twice, I get bored.
If I ever get a chance to go back to Japan and see it on the big screen, I'll definitely see the film again. What people don't realize is that most of these actors are much better looking than they would appear on a big screen, thanks to the effects. And the movie itself is much less "toy"y than some of the older stuff. The acting itself is actually very good. It's just that the movies themselves are so bad that most people are turned off.
That said, I don't think this film is "bad." It's just a bit slow.
How does taste film work?

Who is the owner of taste film?
I am not a film critic nor do I plan to become one, at least not one that reviews movies on the internet.
However, I do have a couple of thoughts about taste film and I'd like to share them with you.
As I read some of the comments on the taste film page from some of the regulars on there, it struck me as being a bit sad. One commenter wrote that taste film is a bit like a religion. Another commentor said Taste filmis like a religion while someone else posted It is really like a religion. I understand that these are all people who enjoy the subject, but I think this attitude towards taste film is misguided.
Why I feel this way is because all religions have a certain set of beliefs, tenets, core values and principles that all religions in one form or another hold dear to their heart. Taste film, although very different from mainstream film, holds a lot of things dear to its heart. As far as I can tell, all it really needs are some of the same concepts that religion and other belief systems require.
For example, I believe in karma. I also believe in the concept of 'cause and effect.' The latter concept is something that I have seen in every single faith and belief system I've studied throughout my life. In the eyes of every culture, cause and effect is the idea that if one does a bad deed, for example, they will be punished for that bad deed later in life. If you steal and you later decide to stop stealing, your karma would get worse. You would have to suffer through the consequences of your actions. For example, you might get caught and pay fines or you might be convicted of a crime.
Some people might say that this is just the way things are and they cannot help themselves. I disagree. I think people should be able to control themselves. This type of thinking is what I believe is true to the core of taste film. I believe that each individual should control what they watch and see. If we think about what happened when the internet went online, we know that our lives as individuals changed and we have to adapt to how the internet works now. Now, people can watch the things they want at any time of day or night. They can watch it right now and not have to wait until tomorrow or the next day.
