What is Orfox used for?
Orfox is an open source fork of the Firefox browser for Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD and OS X. It is written in Rust and licensed under the GPLv3.
Why use Orfox? Firefox has been forked to create Orfox, a fork of Firefox that runs on all platforms with fewer compatibility problems than using the latest official release of Firefox. Orfox is a fork of Firefox due to its large community and desire to increase the stability and security of the project. It's also an alternative to Mozilla's Firefox web browser.
Orfox is more stable than Firefox. It fixes a lot of issues with Firefox, like crashing on startup and freezing, and includes some features that are only available in Firefox. It has a smaller memory footprint, runs faster, and has better security features.
Why use Orfox instead of the official Firefox web browser? If you prefer to use an open-source web browser rather than the official Mozilla Firefox web browser, you can download Orfox from the following links: Latest stable version. Stable version: 1.0 Beta version: 1.2.0
Unstable version: 1.0 Pre-release version: 1.4.0
Development version: 1.5.0
The unstable version is known to have bugs. Latest development version. Development version: 1.6.0
How to install Orfox? Installing Orfox is straightforward. Download Orfox from any of the links above. Open the Orfox download folder in your file manager. Double-click on the Orfox-1.0.xz file.
Follow the instructions provided in the installer. You may need to run the installer as root (su -). Once the installation is complete, start the Orfox browser by typing: firefox. You will see a splash screen similar to the one shown below. You can see the version of the Orfox browser that you installed. Click on the Orfox icon in the launcher to launch Orfox.
You can install Orfox extensions in the same way that you would install extensions for the official Firefox web browser. If you install an extension from the official Firefox website, it will work in Orfox.

Is Orfox and Tor same?
I tried Orfox for about 30 minutes today and I liked it. Then I saw that there are some similar browsers called "Tor" in the Google Play. So I searched again, and I find out they are more similar than different. But then I did not get a chance to test them.
Does anyone know how good they are? Are they both equally safe? Can you use one browser to go out on the internet? I did a lot of searching, but I couldn't find any information about this. In principle, these browsers are both very similar: They are both based on Chromium, one with a modification to prevent fingerprinting and the other without. They both use the same privacy-related extensions (they both share Firefox's Privacy Badger) and they both use HTTPS Everywhere to secure web traffic. The source code is available. There are some important differences between these browsers, which are also listed in the question. However, if you're concerned about security, I suggest trying Tor Browser or Orfox first.
