How to connect to VPN using VPN gate?

I am using a VPN gateway in my network. I want to know how to connect to the VPN using the same gateway. I tried to follow the documentation. But didn't find a clue. Please help me. I am a newbie.Thanks,Suresh
If you can connect to the VPN using a client that is running on a system with an OS other than Windows, it is likely that you have an active IPsec or IPSec connection between that system and the VPN gateway. The VPN gateway will authenticate itself to the server that handles the actual connection to the VPN and get a temporary public key. Once this is done, it will pass this public key to the client on the user's system. On that client, there will be a local registry entry which will contain information about the public key that the VPN gateway used to authenticate itself to the VPN server. When this client asks the VPN gateway to establish a connection, it will use this key to authenticate itself to the VPN server. If the VPN server accepts this connection, it will create a connection between the client and the VPN gateway and hand over the public key that it previously received from the VPN gateway. With this, the client will be able to connect to the VPN server as if it is local.

What you are asking about is called a "gateway" address, which is a special type of IP address that is used by network gateways, such as routers and VPN devices. They have their own special IP address that is used to route traffic between networks. So yes, if you are using a VPN, you will have a gateway address on both sides of the VPN connection.
