Does Netflix block VPN?
Can the VPN work correctly even if Netflix blocks it?
I have been using IPVanish for a long time now and they are usually very effective and trustworthy, though, lately, I've had a few complaints from friends/family who use Netflix that when I use my VPN the streaming quality is terrible. I never got much better streaming quality when I went abroad anyway, so it can't really be attributed to using a VPN. But maybe they are simply being "kind" when they tell me how bad the streams are (despite having had absolutely no issues myself), which would probably only be done with someone who doesn't want to give you the wrong impression.
So I'm just wondering, I'm thinking it's probably safe to say Netflix blocks these kind of things unless I can confirm otherwise? It's easy to test it with an Android phone but what happens when you try that on Linux? If they block the VPN, then it isn't true "Netflix blocks VPNs". If they have this problem for Linux users then it seems more like a software specific glitch. I have had no trouble with my VPN, but again that might only be for people doing testing, not for real users.
What about the rest of the world outside the US? Do VPNs work as well as they should from there? Or do they always have problems? I've not encountered any problems with Netflix outside the US, but this may because my ISP isn't quite up to date in the UK yet as we're mostly missing out on Sky Go. The Netflix website also says it's available in over 40 countries, so I'll have to try again and see what the issue is.
Is there a specific country where your ISP is behind Netflix? It is very convenient and you might want to stay with them if the option is available!I had an instance when a lot of VPN users were behind the current situation and it was good to see this site keep working despite it all.
