Is there a way to import data from a PDF to Excel?

How do I open a PDF in Excel 2013?

This question has been asked many times on the community forums.

A search for "open a pdf in excel" returned 8 million hits. There are several solutions offered, but none of them seem to work for Excel 2024.

The answers given so far point to the use of "Microsoft Office" which does not work for Excel 2024. There is a "Microsoft Office 16. It can only be downloaded from Microsoft's website. It includes the Excel application and several other applications that are not part of Excel.

An alternative to using the Office software is to use the free OpenOffice.org office suite. It includes an app called "LibreOffice". Here is what they have to say about LibreOffice:

LibreOffice is an open source office suite program. It has all the features you can think of. It is completely free and available for all your OSs. You can install it on all your computers and share a single copy across all your users.

Here is a link to download LibreOffice for your platform. Microsoft offers a download for their "Office 2024 SP2 SDK for Excel 2013". This one is free but comes with a limitation. According to Microsoft, you can only use it with the new Office. If you already have a copy of Office 2024 or Office 2024 installed on your machine, this SDK will not work for you.

Here is the link to download the "Microsoft Office 2024 SP2 SDK for Excel 2013". If you do get the SDK, you need to use the installer to select "Install updates to Office for a non-compliant version". This is what it will ask you to do. After you have installed this, make sure to run the "Office Compatibility Checker" by selecting "Check for new features" from the Tools menu and then click the "Run Compatibility Checker" button.

That's about it. Please leave your comments and questions below.

How do I automatically extract data from PDF to Excel?

I need to convert PDFs to Excel files.

I can already open the PDFs in Excel, but I'd like to extract the data from each page automatically.

Is there a way to do that? I found a solution that works for me. The process is very simple, but you'll need to install Acrobat Reader on your machine first.

1) Open your PDF. 2) Click "File" -> "Save As" and choose a folder to save it. 3) Click "Save" and the file will be saved as an Excel document.
