Why does Surfshark think I'm offline?
This is my first post.
I've been reading forums for years and have always thought it a great site. For some reason lately (within the last month or so) I cannot view the site. My IP is a dynamic IP and it changes often. There's no problem viewing other sites on the network, but surfshark says it can't reach me. But I can view this site with little problems. Please Help!
I've been having similar issues for a while now. My dynamic ip will vary everytime I attempt to access Surfshark. For some reason lately (within the last month or so) I cannot view the site.
Your IP may change because you are in a public hotspot that is not connected to your router(if at all). What wireless network are you in? If its WAP then it will be using DHCP and the server could be changing every time you connect to the same place.
I got so frustrated earlier trying to post in this forum. Then I logged onto here and found the thread I wanted to reply to. So the answers you all provided were actually quite helpful. The answers to my original question were:
That doesn't solve the problem I've had lately (it happens pretty frequently). I always sign in with my own username and password. And every time I try to access the site, I get a message that "Your session timed out and was automatically expired". It's extremely frustrating. I also don't remember setting my expiration time. I did not get an email confirmation of any sort either. That must be a bug somewhere.
One last thing. When I posted my answer to someone else's question (I forgot who it was but the email subject line didn't leave much of a clue), the site suddenly said I was offline. I figured I must have used the same username/password combination on another computer. I tried that, I was able to log back in, everything seemed fine.
How do I check my Surfshark status?
Go to your main dashboard and click on the Gear icon in the top right. Click on the Settings tab. Enter your account details, then click on the Verify Account button.
