Can you unblock school websites?
I have a child who has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, but his school has a "no computer" policy. They say that they are following the 'NCEA' policy, however, they seem to be using NCEA as a catch all.
I'm pretty sure they're telling the truth, and not doing anything wrong, so what can I do? I was thinking of trying to block the school websites (as most schools only have a very limited number of websites on their network, like, maybe 1 or 2), but is that even possible? Does anyone know the protocol for this? ? They're telling me that it's ok, but they do say that it's their policy. What can I do? If it's the same in your area, go to the school and ask if they have a "no computer" policy. If they say they do have one, then you can request that they remove their "policy".
You could also contact the parents of the child. If there is some sort of policy in place, and it's against the law to block any school website, then I imagine the parents would be involved. They might even try to sue the school for the amount of time that they claim that they've missed out on.
If there isn't a "no computer" policy, then you're stuck with asking for a different school. The school says that it's their policy, so what can I do? If it's not illegal to block school websites, then I'm guessing it's the parent's decision, unless there is some sort of policy in place. Just to be clear, you're talking about a school where the parents choose the type of school that the child attends, right? Is it possible that some of these schools have a policy where the parents get to decide? If so, you should check with the school to see if that's the case. The school I'm talking about is a public school, so it's definitely their decision. I think that it's something that the parents would get involved in. From what I gather, there is no law against blocking school websites, so it's up to the parent's discretion.
How do I unblock websites on my school WIFI?
I am having problems with my school's wifi, which I do not have any control over. What I mean is that there are websites that it blocks such as Google and Bing, I have tried to download the "FTP" program to get past these sites but it is not working. If you can help me with how I can unblock these sites then it would be greatly appreciated!
Re: ? You need to contact the IT people at your school to find out what is going on. It's possible that you're not the only person who is blocked from accessing those sites. You don't want to download software that might get you in trouble. Try contacting the IT people at your school instead of trying to use a third-party program to try to access the blocked sites.
There are tons of ways to bypass that. For example, use an alternative browser, like Firefox, and install the AdBlock extension to block ads. Then you can visit any site you want without ads. If you want more info on ways to bypass adblocking software, see this thread.
If the school has a proxy server, you can ask the IT staff for a proxy password to use instead of their blocked sites. I don't know if the proxy server is set to block certain sites or not. You could also contact the IT staff again to ask them to unblock the sites that you want to visit.
The IT Staff at my school is not able to unblock anything. When I asked them they told me that I had to find the root of the problem to fix it. They said I had to contact the parent of the person who installed the software.
So, you can't access blocked sites at all? Is that what your school says? If so, the best thing to do is to find a teacher/staff member at your school who can help you, since you can't contact your parents. The IT staff at your school might be able to help, but it's not always easy.
How do I allow blocked sites on Chrome?
Chrome doesn't allow blocked sites on Chrome, it just tells me that it's unavailable. You can try the following method. Open settings/preferences, and select "Privacy". Next, select "Content settings" and click the arrow. Navigate to the "Blocked content" section of your browser and click "Unblock" if necessary. Another method of doing this is to access the settings by opening the toolbar and selecting the gear icon in the upper right hand corner. Go to chrome://net-internals/#xhr, then click on the "Enable xhr" checkbox. That should allow blocked websites to work properly in chrome.
First of all, if you've already enabled 'xhr' (in Chrome), it should not be required. Try disabling that (go to chrome://net-internals/#xhr) and see if the website is still missing from Chrome.
If the website is not there, then try to do the following: Go to chrome://settings/content. Switch to Developer mode. Switch to 'Custom Content Settings'. Clear the 'Disable Autofill Form Secrets' box. Save the changes. Switch back to 'Normal mode'. The reason why this worked is because the Autofill form secrets are stored in your local machine (and that you disable in your Content Settings). You could also delete those specific entries. This should definitely help you with the problem!
How do I unblock a page blocked by Chrome?
I've been playing around with my extensions lately and have come across a little situation which puzzles me, I'm not sure if this is possible but I thought I would ask. Anyway I'm trying to get my Facebook extension working which I am currently using at the moment: I'm using version 1.1 of the Chrome Extension which includes the Facebook JavaScript SDK. The extension uses some simple js to redirect users to the facebook login button whereupon they click log in and are redirected back to my site. The problem is that if you try to load the JS SDK you get this error:
Unsafe script access: Redirect to www.com blocked by Cross-Site Policy - your content was loaded via I'm now having a look around and it seems to be a common complaint about how many pages seem to be blocked by their hoster's server (Facebook). I thought maybe this could be fixed but nothing really seems to be the solution other than disabling the browser's security settings and also turning off the security settings on your hosts site. I'm wondering if there's any way around this by having a look at your network panel and getting a direct connection to either Facebooks server or at least telling me where the blocking is taking place.
The only part of this that bothers me is that sometimes after installing the extension it won't work until a reboot. Then if I refresh my page you get the same problem as before. However once you load the extension I have the problem fixed for good! It seems to reset every time it seems.
Thank you in advance for your help. Matt. EDIT: The other problem I'm noticing is on mobile you don't always get to see where the problem is actually coming from. My mobile has problems with the security settings if you don't tick them (therefore I don't know what I have ticked there at the moment). I just see the error in the console and assume that it must be something to do with that page being protected.
