My first thought is to check the metadata on the file. If the name of the author is in the metadata, then the author is the 3rd party. If the name of the author is not present, the author is not the 3rd party. If the name is not in the metadata, then there is no way to tell if the author is the 3rd party.

The simplest way to do this is to put your email address and phone number into the Author and Editor boxes on the book's Amazon.com product page. If it's a third party, the listing will include your information.

The more work it takes to identify someone as a third party, the less likely they are to actually be one.

Do I need an app in my phone to play games from the App Store? You need an iOS device that supports either GameCenter or Game Center Match (see "What is Game Center?" on page 22) for all of the iCade games in the App Store. Note: not all of the games in the App Store require Game Center support. Some games have no Game Center support. You can purchase third party apps without Game Center. Game Center is a single sign-on app that allows you to securely and conveniently manage your gaming profile. When you first start your iCade, you must authorize your device to connect with the Game Center server. Game Center provides a variety of features, including online leaderboards, achievements, friends lists, matchmaking and game sharing. You can create custom notifications, turn on push notifications for your games, keep track of games played, and see how far you've progressed through a title. You can find these controls in Game Center under Settings > Privacy. In addition, there are several Game Center apps on the App Store, and it's possible to use the third party Game Center app instead of the original Game Center app.

Are iPhones included in the iCade package? No. IPhones are not included in the App Store version of the iCade package. IPhones are included in the iPad version of the iCade package.

Who is included in this package? The following people are included: App 1 - Apple. IOS 5.0 or later - All App 1 content works in App 2 without any modification. App 2 requires iTunes 3.2 and iTunes Connect to be running. Some App 1 content requires Game Center support (which is NOT included).

App 2 - Sony/Epic. IOS 5.0 or later - Only compatible with certain versions of iOS with iTunes Connect installed. All App 2 content works in App 3 without any modification. App 3 requires iTunes Connect to be running.
