How do I disable apps on Android without uninstalling?
What is the "super-lock" and why am I seeing it in some third-party apps?
How do I prevent it from showing on my own apps? What's next for Android? As with many OSes before it, Google is currently going through a reworking of Android. This is in no way unique to Googlethat's just how most new versions get released these days, for better or for worsebut that has meant Google's new changes have had more notice than others. The result has been some interesting questions for developers:
Who can I sell my games to now? For a while, Google changed how game developers get their payments for sales via their game app stores. The new system was criticized for a number of things, including the perceived ability of Google and Facebook to control the content available through their channels. More recently, that feature looks to have been rolled back in favor of a simple system that doesn't allow for paywall schemes so long as they're paid for directly in the Play Store. Does this mean that Google has changed its views on free? That doesn't appear to be the case, as both a Play Store overhaul and new mobile OS version will be free. However, we do know that Google wants some degree of privacy on the data that it collects, and any change Google could implement would be subject to that (for more, see the links at the end of the answer).
Can I start over? The Nexus 5X release date was pushed back and the devices aren't exactly on par with what consumers had expected in 2024. We know that there are plans for another Nexus device, and even this year's flagship has been rumored to be part of the fold. What Google does want, though, is to start focusing more of its attention on the Android OS that has the vast majority of its installed users. Google wants to make more investments in the user-facing applications such as YouTube and Maps, as well as improve the general performance of the Android system as a whole. Google wants to make sure that Android is as good as its ever been, which it appears will take time. Google also wants to help developers learn what the current limitations of the platform are (more on that in a moment), so hopefully the Nexus line stays around.
How do you stop an app without uninstalling it?
It's an issue I've seen many times.
There's a game or game app that's great, until suddenly the battery is drained on a low-battery phone, the sound is no longer muted and you're forced to reboot your phone. You then have to start the app all over again, but you can't uninstall it (since it's a game, it's probably not possible to install another copy of it and you have to relaunch it from scratch). What can you do? It's annoying and frustrating, but what can you do?
Your first thought might be to go into Settings > Apps, scroll down to the game/app and long press to "Uninstall" it. But this is only if you have an Android 2. If you have an older Android version, you'll need to head over to the Play Store to uninstall it manually. This will work regardless of the version of the operating system you have installed.
If you don't have Play Store access, a third-party app like Download Booster may be able to perform this task for you. How to delete photos from my tablet's SD card? If you have been deleting photos from your tablet's memory card, chances are you've forgotten about them in the process. To delete them now, check out these three ways to clean your tablet's memory card, which are available to all tablet models: Use your tablet as a mass storage device. In the Device Settings menu, navigate to "Storage," tap on the "SD Card" tab, then tap on "Use as mass storage." The photo gallery, apps, and other files will now appear on your tablet as if they were stored on your tablet's SD card. Tap on any of them to download them onto your tablet or delete them right away.
Use a file explorer app on your tablet. These apps allow you to easily browse your tablet's memory cards, delete photos and files, and even install new photos. They are available to most tablet models.
