What is the difference between proxy and host?

What is the proxy host and port?

I am trying to connect to a website via java web start. The connection is successful however I have to change the proxy settings in order to connect. I have done this through the command line, but I am unable to find any similar option for Java web start. I have tried adding the proxy host and port in the java properties as follows:

ProxyHost=. ProxyPort=. However I have not had any success. Does anyone know what the host and port are and how to use them? I have tried using different versions of Java 1.5.020 and 1.6.002.

It is proxyHost and proxyPort. You can use java -Dhttp.proxyHost=yourhost -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 to set these values.

What is the proxy port for my HP printer?
