Can I get a job with Selenium?
What can I do with Selenium?
I'm currently studying programming at college. I don't really have any experience in programming or any relevant skills other than html. Can you, or should I just stop worrying about it and just practice a lot?
Mike Collins. This is a question that has come up for quite some time, and the simple answer is, yes, you can do quite a bit with selenium. But keep in mind that the answer to this question is not as simple as it sounds. The answer will vary based on your skills and goals.
I suggest that if you are just starting out and don't want to get into too much detail about scripting or programming, you try and learn something related to web development, HTML, JavaScript or C# instead of picking up coding and writing selenium scripts. This way you can focus on a simpler problem and not worry too much about how things work. It's ok to learn how to code when you don't have a clear direction. Just focus on learning a basic skill rather than a specific tool like Selenium. This way you will learn what the tools can do and how to use them to get things done, rather than building some specific application and then being confused on how to use the tools that were needed.
It's also ok to learn about the tools after you have a sense of what you want to do with them, but in the meantime focus on getting some hands on experience. You could also start a local or open source project that is related to a different topic. Learn how to work with a project in general and then learn to build something with the tools.
You will find that the answer to your question is not so simple and varies from person to person. But keep in mind that a lot of learning takes place at a very basic level, so you will need to focus more on getting things done and learning the things that you can do with Selenium.
If you think that you can be successful with Selenium by simply writing scripts and then forget about it, then you will most likely be disappointed in your results and spend a lot of time working on a basic problem. If you are planning to work as a programmer in the future then learning the basics will help you a lot.
How much a Selenium tester can earn?
How to make a living as a selenium tester
If you are interested in the field of IT, there are many fields that are very attractive to you.
The IT field offers many opportunities for job seekers. But the question is ? And how to make a living as a selenium tester? To answer this question, you can see our last post: How much a QA Engineer can earn.
In this post, I will show you how much a Selenium tester can earn and how to make a living as a selenium tester. Selenium tester is always needed. Before you decide whether to become a Selenium tester, you must first know what kind of work it is. Selenium is a tool. So it needs testers to check whether the product works properly. In general, the Selenium tester's job is to test an application or system through the use of a user interface.
So if you want to become a Selenium tester, you need to choose the profession or the company that provides the best job opportunities. In this post, you will see some suggestions for Selenium testing jobs.
Selenium tester's monthly salary. The number of job vacancies in the IT field is very limited, so you should decide whether to become a Selenium tester according to your own willingness. Some people choose this profession because they have the dream to change their working environment. But the salary of the profession is not the most important thing when you choose the profession. For those who want to earn money, Selenium tester can be one of the options to choose.
For Selenium tester, the monthly salary is very high. Here are some examples of Selenium testers' monthly salary.
Is Selenium still in demand?
I've been working with Selenium for many years, and I would like to know what you think of it.
What kind of use is it nowadays? Is it a must in a web app anymore? or are most of the testers using it "just because" they used to use it? One thing that I have noticed is that when testing UI and web apps, some folks seem to have a harder time navigating the different browsers that have come along since Selenium was written. There is an increase in new technologies that allow us to run tests on multiple browsers at once, or even across multiple machines (using remote selenium server). I think this makes it more important than it was in the past.
I don't think there are a lot of 'majors' that use it any longer as the majority have moved on to more robust test automation tools. The reasons for Selenium over traditional testing tools has less to do with the language that Selenium is written in as it is the platform that allows for automated testing. Although Selenium continues to provide a stable platform for automating browser based web apps, I think the market has shifted from Selenium tools like Jmeter and LoadRunner for more comprehensive testing.
Is Selenium a high paying job?
I want to start up a career as a selenium QA in India.
I need to know if it is a high paying job. What are the other options available in the market for a QA in India? Please help. That would be a pretty nice income in India (aside from the fact that your rent and food would be pretty cheap compared to the US).
In terms of your other options, it's hard to say. Some companies like TCS and Wipro are well known for hiring a lot of developers with very little experience. They make sure that their employees are "good enough" for them, rather than the other way around.
In terms of what you are looking for, I'd suggest the following: If you are skilled in Java or .NET, then maybe look into those languages. You could work for a software development company as a junior developer.
If you are skilled in something else, then look into the testing services companies like iQon and Rational (they also have a lot of web-based jobs). For entry level positions, the best place to look would be the local universities. They usually offer a lot of free training, so they are a good place to start.
Finally, if you are interested in learning the language, I would recommend a few books: Kent Beck's Working Effectively with Legacy Code - if you are a .NET developer, this is a must read.
Sandra Shih's Software Testing Techniques - this book is excellent for learning about the different kinds of testing, and when to use each type. It doesn't get into the details of the language you are using, but it does go into some depth about what makes testing so challenging.
Peter Norvig's Artificial Intelligence for Programmers - this book is great for learning about how to write a program in a new language, and it's pretty approachable for programmers who are not familiar with the concept of "AI".
