How can you find out who called you from a no caller ID?

Can you trace a call from a private number?

You have a friend who is a drug addict.

He or she calls you every day, usually in the afternoon, telling you he or she has some news to share. You listen patiently, knowing that the news is going to be bad. Sometimes you can do something for him or her, but the call keeps coming and it is getting more and more depressing. One day you finally just say, "Don't call me anymore, because I don't care!"

But your friend still calls. And then one day you are finally able to get away from work long enough to answer the phone. The person at the other end of the line tells you that his or her home has been burglarized. When you ask why your friend didn't call sooner, your friend says he or she was afraid to call because of the drug problem. You tell him or her that it is all right to call now and everything will be fine. But, again, the calls keep coming. It seems that when they hang up, they don't want to call you back.

At this point, you become really angry. You think your friend is a bad influence on your child and you are tempted to call the police. But you know that this is really your friend's last chance to get help. So, you try to reason with him or her.

"Look," you say, "I know that you need help. If I had money, I'd give it to you. But I can't. Now, I have an important question for you. I want to ask you: Could the burglars have used the phone lines to trace the calls? Could they have traced the calls to you and then called you back? Don't answer that. I want you to promise that you will not call me again."

The person on the other end of the line begins to sob. "I promise," he or she says. "I won't call you again."

The rest of the story is that your friend never got the drugs he or she needed. He or she continued to be a drug addict and eventually died of an overdose. You thought the last call you received was the last call your friend ever made. You didn't realize that someone could have been listening.

In the world of telecommunications, call tracing is the ability to determine if the origin of a telephone call came from a particular area code.

How do I find out what private number called me?

We have had a very good experience with the service and found that with your personal number, it really works.

Not only do you find out where your call came from, but you also get to leave a message if necessary for the company.

How does private caller identification work? With your telephone, the carrier who installed your phone will identify the calls based on the public location of your phone, or the number of the caller. This means, if you call from home, your phone might say something like: In Austin, TX. Or From 446-852-2343. This is not a recording, and is not an indication that the caller is from your company.

How do I find out where my call originated from? When you see the red dot on your Caller ID screen, you will be able to see the street name or city/town. Depending on the call, you might be able to see the county, state or country, but we would recommend that you read through the information and find out before clicking on the more info button to be sure you have all of the information you are looking for.
