How do I connect to Microsoft family?
I have a Windows 8.1 laptop and my desktop is a Windows 7 machine. I'd like to be able to use my Windows 7 computer to connect to my Windows 8.1 computer. I know this is probably not the best way to do it, but I'd like to know what I'm doing.
It's fairly easy to share your files with other PCs in your home or work network. There are two ways to do it. Sharing files via File Sharing. Sharing files over the Internet. What you do depends on how you want to access your files. You can either access your files from another PC using a file explorer or you can access your files through a web browser.
Open File Explorer. Select File > Share Folder. Select the folder you want to share and click Next. Click the checkbox next to Allow this content to be shared, then click OK. Now any computer that has File Explorer will be able to open the folder. Connect to your PC through the Internet. To connect to your PC from another computer, you'll need a web browser. Open a web browser. Type in the IP address of your PC, which is usually 192.168.x or 10.x
For example, if your PC's IP address is 192.8 then type into the address bar of your browser That will open a web browser on your PC, where you can access your files. If you want to connect to your PC from another PC in your home network, you can do it by going to File Explorer on the other PC and selecting Connect to Server. This will open a dialog that allows you to select your PC.
Click Browse and select the IP address of your PC. That will open a File Explorer window on the other PC.
How do I manage parental controls on Microsoft?
I have Windows 10 on my tablet, and this is the first time ever using any MS product.
I recently purchased a Microsoft account from them (and from other things they offer like Office 365 for example).
Now, when I go on my phone to log into it on Microsoft's website, I get a warning saying that "Parental Controls are set to On", and that I'm only an adult or child? How do I change it? The "On" option is greyed out. Does anyone know how to change the setting on Microsoft to allow me to make changes to the settings for parental controls? Thank you so much! I can't wait to be in this MS family (well, at least in our family household haha). After you get a Microsoft account you can sign into a Microsoft.com app that is preinstalled on the phone for adding your account. Then you can add parents into your device settings to control how their data will be shared. Here's how to get to it:
Sign into your phone with your Microsoft account. Open your Device Management app. Click Add Parentals. Enter their phone number and email address. It works well for me but I haven't used the parental controls. Hope this helps!
