I need help. How do you setup anonymous proxy on your iPhone for downloading music from iTunes to your ipod or iphone? I've been looking for answer but cannot find answer. I have anonymous proxy service running in my home network that I need to get rid of. It's a service that basically hides the IP of your PC, so you can surf anonymously without having to worry about being tracked.

I've read various articles on the internet suggesting how to do this, but they are all rather dated and the methods don't work for me. Below is what I've done so far. If you have any more suggestions or other ways of doing this, please feel free to share them!

I've also posted this question on the Bleeping Computer forums, so if you have any suggestions there, feel free to post them there as well. What I've tried so far: Disable the anonymous proxy service from the Windows Firewall. Install PsTools and use that to disable the proxy service. Download PsExec and run it with the following command: PsExec.exe 192.168.100 cmd /c netsh interface set interface admin disabled

(where is the interface name of the proxy service you wish to disable). This works in most cases, but I've had some exceptions where it doesn't work. For example, the service may be running as an administrator. Or you may have installed a firewall software (eg ZoneAlarm or Norton Internet Security) that blocks access to PsExec.

Use PsExec to get the service's process ID (PID). Run the following command: C:WindowsSystem32>taskkill /pid . I haven't found a reliable way of getting the PID of the proxy service. Install Process Explorer and use that to kill the service. Run the following command in the command prompt: procexp.100 You should see a window that looks like this: It will show all the processes that are running on your computer. Click the small arrow to the left of the process you want to kill. In the right-hand pane, look for the service you want to kill. Click on it and select Kill.

Hi! I need some help with anonymous proxies. I'm using the Tor client and I have set a few hours, but I still get an error: Unable to authenticate. I just don't know how to turn off the VPN!

When you set your location to be "Unspecified", you can probably try clicking on the blue "Hide Location" button as long as you also set the time zone appropriately (I believe you can use the same interface to do both settings). If that doesn't work, you can always switch to the more detailed list view. I suspect it would work better if you switched the time zone setting first, though.

That will probably be enough to fix the VPN issue. You should also get a more specific error message.

After you switch locations or if you are certain that the VPN has nothing to do with the problem, you can look for the actual error messages that go into the terminal. The error messages will be under the first line of the screen where Tor is giving its permission and saying that everything is OK. Just cut and paste the information and put it into a new thread.

After that, you can try using the Tor control panel (on your Tor browser) and logging out and then in to see if there are any errors with your cookies. In Tor Browser, under Settings -> Advanced settings -> Network Settings, click on Clear Cookies. This should let Tor know that you are not a bot and give you full access to the website. If that doesn't work, you can use a different computer and clear your cookies to see if the problem goes away.

I don't use this software, but I think if you were running a paid version it would have an auto logout option. I think you can use the logout option for it.

There is also something called the Cleanse option, which purges your cache, cookies and other things on your computer. Also, you could disable cookies for all sites, including those who are tracking you. I had to get rid of Tor once because I was getting too much of a load from the website, and Tor didn't seem to be any more anonymous than just doing an ordinary web search.
