Does Tor browser have a mobile version?

Is Tor browser free?

I started using Tor because a well-meaning security consultant told me it was safe. Turns out he wasn't kidding. This software is amazing, and I'm writing this article to encourage you to go download Tor Browser and use it regularly, both to protect yourself and because it's fun and easy to use.

Tor is a project started in the 1990s by a group of mathematicians, computer scientists, and libertarians as a means of ensuring greater privacy for anyone on the Internet. They've been working on it for more than a decade, and it has a lot of momentum behind it.

Tor uses techniques that let a person who is using Tor appear to be in many different places around the world. In fact, they actually are in many different places around the world. Each place gets a random identifier that serves as their "IP address." The user's request for web sites is sent to an exit node that is responsible for giving the visitor a way to connect to the site. The requests are then sent on to the final destination.

To put this into context: if you were to take two users, John Doe and Jane Doe, and say, "I need them to exchange emails for two weeks," they might use a shared web host or two that is not part of an organization they trust. Using Tor Browser and having your email go through a dozen different locations can make it seem as though you're accessing the website from all over the world. By default, Tor will hide your IP address, but you can change the exit node to be your own, and if you change this setting you'll have to start the process over again. If you prefer to protect your anonymity, and if you know you won't be accessing sensitive websites, you could even set up Tor to not even use your own IP address, so it will be like you never even logged in. You will still be protected, but you have to manually check each new site that wants to access your computer.

If you want to get started with Tor, it's pretty simple: Download the Tor Browser Bundle here . This is the version with the most complete feature set. Choose "Other Platform" for installation options. Go through the installation. Open Tor Browser, launch it, and give it permission to save data.

That's it.

Does Tor browser have a mobile version?

I'm interested in what this looks like. I'd like to use it to browse online on a small screen while on the go. I've tried to set it up but I'm having problems with the Browser Sync. When I start Tor, when I click on a link it opens my default browser and that window remains open even if I close it.

It's been a long time since I used Tor, so I may have gotten it completely wrong. Can anyone give me some suggestions? It's always recommended to install at least two profiles if you want to browse anonymously. One regular profile that is configured to use an ordinary web browser, eg, firefox. And a separate dedicated tor browsing profile. The dedicated tor profile uses one of the multiple ports (eg 6300) that Tor opens for 'hidden services'.

You start Tor in your usual profile (I think Firefox is ok). On the same Firefox window you run Firefox with the New Profile button to start a new profile. In the new profile you should add a new entry into the torrc file using the same commands as described here:

That way Firefox will connect to Tor's port when opening any of the URLs from that new (dedicated) profile, but the regular Firefox will still work the same as before. Then in your other profile (regular Firefox) just open the .torrc file on your home directory and copy/paste the added port line to it. Now open Firefox again and it should work as before.

Alternatively, you could start Tor and use a dedicated browser like Orfox (another one I can't recommend enough). If you wish, you can also use both a regular browser and a dedicated tor browser simultaneously. I usually switch between them using the little gear icon or the buttons in the upper right corner.

So, I found this and it is exactly what I was looking for, but it seems to have disappeared now. Anyone happen to know what it is called or know of another mobile site that looks the same?
