I'm a huge Disney fan.

In the past, my dream would be to one day visit Walt's house and walk through Disneyland. I finally took my dream to life in 2026 when I visited WDW and was amazed at the magic I felt. It was an incredible experience that I've never forgotten. Since then, I've also visited California Adventure and Downtown Disney multiple times. I've seen all the parks many times, and I can't wait to visit again.

However, I have a hard time thinking that Disneyland can match the magic I experienced at WDW. While California Adventure is fun, it isn't even in the same league as WDW. Even worse, Disneyland has a reputation for being sterile and unfriendly. How does it compare?

I don't know why you're surprised to hear that Disneyland is generally perceived to be more sterile than other Disney parks, but you're correct that it is, as is the park of which it's named. That being said, I've yet to see an international Disneyland guest complain about how sterile or unfriendly the place is.

We have been to Disney in Florida for the last 4 or 5 years now. When were there at Christmas time, I was very impressed with what they had done. In particular, they had a few shows that you could see as you waited in line for the big rides. But when went back this summer, I was not impressed at all. There were no shows at all. Why

As the old saying goes, when you have a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail. I think its good that you had some impressions of it from Florida, and they did add quite a lot to that holiday in terms of entertainment. If you'd visited in the summer when the rides are closed, you would have been much less impressed. It's true that there was less to see and do, but you still had the chance to spend time with the characters and get a good taste of the magic.

But the UK was never going to have the kind of tourist numbers that Florida attracts. That's why Disney have done the shows to begin with.

So Disney's UK shows are less impressive because there aren't as many people around? There were loads of people there when went over Christmas and lots of kids really enjoyed them. There was also a guy who was playing the drums in the park, so the crowds weren't too bad either. I think it depends where you are in the country and how long you have to wait for the park to open. The ones in the summer are great, but those in the winter are very disappointing.

I'd have preferred it if they'd used the same rides in the winter and the summer. It just doesn't make any sense to me to have all the rides closed in the winter.

Well, I guess I should have made that clear. As you know, I don't go to Disney. But I do know people who do. They were with me at Christmas and they were very pleased with the shows.

However, when went over the summer, there were no shows at all. And I don't think there will be any shows until the winter.
