How does Spotify Premium family work?

We've already talked a lot about Spotify Premium here on our blog.

This week we want to look more closely at what the Premium family really means for you.

Spotify Premium is an optional subscription for Spotify users. It's available in 3 main versions: individual, family and group. The difference between them is that your family members have access to the premium features of Spotify without having to sign up as a new user.

Family. You are not the only person in your family who listens to Spotify. If you want your family members to get the same benefits as you do, you can add their names to your family account and make all your family members part of it.

You have to sign in with your Spotify username and password when you add a new member to your family. Group. A group allows you to sign in as many people as you want in your family. You can add people in real time and give them access to the premium features of Spotify.

All members of a group have access to the premium features of Spotify. You can see which of them has the premium account and which of them doesn't by going to your home screen.

You can add and remove members from your group in real time. To do so, go to your home screen and click on Settings. Then you can choose which people to add and remove from your group and manage your group members.

Individual. Individual accounts allow you to sign in as many people as you want. You can add friends, family members and even anonymous people.

When you open a new individual account, you need to create a password. You can choose one that is easy to remember and that you can't guess.

When you sign up as an individual, you also have to provide your Spotify username and password. Add your family members to your Spotify family. Go to your home screen. Click on Settings. Choose Family. You will be redirected to the family screen. Click on Family. Click on Add family member. Enter your Spotify username and password. Enter your name and surname of the new family member. Click on Add person. After you have added the new family member, you will see the icon in the account status area on the left of your home screen.
