Does Amazon Prime ban VPN?
Amazon's Prime account service is quite a big deal.
This allows customers to easily access Amazon services like apps, video, music, photo etc. Without having to enter a separate password each time and get rewards too. Customers have been able to use their paid subscription for free via Amazon Prime for many years already and even if you still use their free trials of the service, it is recommended that you always add your credit card details before you begin an account with them.
I have never signed up to Prime myself but was curious how many people might still have the service on a family plan that does allow multiple accounts but may not be open to paying for the Premium service. In the past I have always wondered what the catch was as I have had no problems accessing free AWS services via my account since joining a few years ago. I was surprised to see that this year Amazon Prime is offering VPN. Is this an attempt by the company to stop customers accessing anything using their own IP address or will they keep this offer around just for those who need something more secure?
Here is a screen shot of the current signup page for Prime. There are some great links for those who have an active account there too for things like: Mystery box. Video series (on how to paint a picture). Music streaming service. And in fact if you follow the link from Get ready to watch to Watch for free, you will find a link to Free Prime Video which when you visit shows you what can be accessed for free with their current premium services. This means when you visit the page at and click the Check to Sign Up link, you can do so with a completely free account and therefore have no other fees required.
If you read further on the page there is more information on their Private Internet Access network with the benefits that being they won't share customer data with third parties. Here is the text: PIA protects your online privacy, security, and online freedom with innovative encryption technology designed specifically for Amazon customers. It provides a virtual private network connection through our servers and data centers located in U.
Does ExpressVPN work with Amazon Prime?
If you order from their site, it probably does not work very well, because the link has a special page for Amazon Prime users.
Also, in my recent trip to Australia I could not find the ExpressVPN product available in any of their retail locations. It is on the list though.
@Mitch: thanks for that info. But is there also a way to make it work with Amazon prime? I have been trying to find it everywhere but no luck. Thanks.
If you go to this link ExpressVPN works without problems with amazon prime: Here's the steps to get the ExpressVPN Service on your Amazon.com account: Go to the Amazon.com website and look for the "Buy and Sell" button: Buy and Sell ( Buy and Sell () On the right side of the top page, click the Amazon "Buy and Sell" button2. Enter your email address when asked3. Type in the code "RU" or "R" as your offer (RU) or bid (R)4. Click on Add Offer or Add Bid5. Choose ExpressVPN as your "offer" or "bid" and click on Accept Offer6. The link with the ExpressVPN will appear on the right side of the top page of the website7. Then, you can install ExpressVPN on your Amazon Firestick, Amazon Echo, and Kindle Fire tablets.
Note: If you want ExpressVPN and Amazon Prime combined, you should install the Amazon Appstore (on your devices) and do the following things, but only once for all of your devices:1. Download the app2. Go to "settings" and then to "app settings"3. Under General tab, tick the box that says "Allow this device to become an app store". In case you did not set this, you can uncheck it and then set it again
@Mitch: Thanks for helping. I already tried it a few times but couldn't find the product to be displayed in Australia. That's why I asked. However, I will try it for the US site just in case. Hope it works.
