Does Netflix work with ExpressVPN?
With the rise of Netflix, many people are trying to find ways to avoid being restricted. Netflix is a streaming service that allows you to watch TV shows and movies through your computer or phone. But, this service can be a bit restrictive for some people. You can try to get around the restrictions by using a VPN, but not all VPNs will work with Netflix. There are some VPNs that do work with Netflix, but we won't be discussing those here.
Instead, we will be looking at Netflix VPNs and how they compare to ExpressVPN. For the most part, they will do the same thing. But, ExpressVPN is going to better for the following reasons:
Netflix VPNs are usually slow. ExpressVPN has a faster connection. ExpressVPN is more stable. ExpressVPN has more servers. Netflix VPNs are usually slow because they do a lot of data compression. So, to watch movies, you will have to download a lot of data. For most people, this is going to be a problem. This is especially true if you are using a slow internet connection. But, with ExpressVPN, you can watch movies without a problem.
The connection speed with ExpressVPN is going to be a lot faster than a Netflix VPN. Why? ExpressVPN is a VPN that supports P2P file sharing. And, that allows you to share files with other people on the internet. So, if you are sharing a file with someone else, your connection is going to be faster. And, if you are downloading a movie, the connection speed is going to be even faster.
ExpressVPN is more stable than a Netflix VPN. Because ExpressVPN has a kill switch. So, if you start using ExpressVPN and you disconnect, it will automatically stop using your internet connection. This is something that you can't really do with Netflix.
ExpressVPN has more servers than Netflix VPNs. Netflix has a pretty small selection of servers. You can only use them in certain countries. So, if you want to watch movies or TV shows in the US, you are going to have to find a US Netflix VPN.

A user on Twitter noticed that their Netflix VPN service does not work in Korea, which is surprising. Many people use ExpressVPN in Korea to get around the country's Netflix ban, which lets some people stream online content. Since the VPN service itself is distributed outside Korea, some users might suspect that ExpressVPN is being blocked.
We contacted ExpressVPN with a request to confirm or deny the claim about Netflix blocking the service in China, Korea, and possibly other countries. We have asked about specific IP addresses and what languages are available on Netflix.
We will keep this article updated as more information comes in. ExpressVPN Responds. A representative of ExpressVPN replied to us in the comments section, stating that they had not received any complaints about Netflix blocking users and that they had not received any contact from Netflix. The representative did not comment on Netflix's alleged blocking of the VPN service, however he mentioned that the Korean Netflix service has instituted some changes that prevent VPN users from completely bypassing Netflix's proxies. Removing the slow Internet speeds part of the streaming service, as well as requiring the payment of a monthly fee. However, because of technical problems, VPN users in Korea are unable to access the Netflix streaming site over VPN, according to the representative. The representative also said that other VPNs have been blocked in other countries.
When asked about the typical user in these geographies blocked, the representative did not comment. Why ExpressVPN Blocks Netflix. A technical support representative at ExpressVPN told us that they use a feature named CaptivePortal to prevent Netflix from blocking their service. CaptivePortal is a feature that encrypts traffic to and from Netflix. Although Netflix claims to notice and block VPN traffic to and from VPN providers, this is what the technology is actually for. CaptivePortal acts as a traffic proxy for the user. This helps bypass the issues that a user might encounter when using a VPN on Netflix.
