I have an iPhone and my child has been using it without me for a while.

I had something like this setup a while ago where I had a computer running as a kiosk for the kids at the park. I set up a simple python script that checked for the network SSID (essentially the name of the wifi network), and allowed access if the SSID was 'home' (which was set up so that it would be the SSID for the school network). If it was not 'home' then it denied access. This was done on the computer, and I set up a wireless network card and then installed a wireless router. This gave me a wireless network that I could connect to and control the machine through. I had the router set up so that it allowed access only to known computers (ie known MAC addresses). This gave me the ability to ensure that the kids could not connect to anything else than their own computers, and only those that were in a group allowed to connect to it (basically the wifi at the park was only for access by the kids, no-one else).
