Can you use a floor scraper on concrete?

Answer: It is pretty much impossible to get an edge off of the concrete without a chemical stripper. In your case, it would be impossible, since you have already broken up the bond between the concrete and the substrate.

However, there are a couple of things you can do if you want to reuse the floor boards: If you can, get some of the old floor boards that are still pretty clean, or at least not too badly damaged. You can use them as the subfloor for your new floor. Get some scrap wood and build a frame with a few 2x4s and plywood strips. Screw the floor boards in place, and then fill the frame with concrete using either a form-built concrete footing or a cast-in-place concrete floor. Then, apply wood flooring directly to the concrete. The frame acts as a buffer between the subfloor and the concrete. It also keeps any moisture and liquid from penetrating the concrete.

If you are in a bind with no subfloor, you can either use a waterproofing membrane like Flexituff or put down some new wood floor boards on top of the concrete. I am sorry that you cannot reuse the concrete floor as a subfloor. I think the floorboard option you suggested would work, but it might not last long because the floor boards would deteriorate quickly. If you did use the floor boards as subfloor material, you would have to seal the floor boards to keep moisture from coming in between the concrete and the floor boards.

Another option is to cover the old concrete floor with a vapor barrier that will allow you to lay down wood floor boards. I had a floor scraper a couple years ago and I used it for about a month, but I never really got any dirt off the floor.

I was told it would work and that if I didnt use it, I wouldnt get dirt off the floor.

But I have seen videos of people scraping a whole lot of dirt off the floor with a floor scraper and it looks like they got a ton of dirt off the floor. So which one is it? should I buy a floor scraper or not? is it a scam? is it possible to get dirt off the floor with a floor scraper? what is the purpose of a floor scraper? I use a mop and squeegee in my office. It's easier than a scraper and does the job just as well. But, you can get a floor scraper if you want. Scraping does work, but it's better to do it when the floor is dry.

The floor scrubber does not work for mopping the floor, at least not on the floor as well as a mop and squeegee. Scrubbing the floor will not leave the floor cleaner than what it is before you start. If the floor has a lot of dirt it will need to be cleaned with a mop and squeegee anyway. The floor scraper, on the other hand, can help you pick up some of the dirt you don't see. Then, you can mop it up with the mop and squeegee.
