How do I change my VPN on my smart TV?

Where is VPN on smart TV?

I've been searching for VPN on smart TV for some time, but I can't find any apps for that.

It is a shame, because VPN and smart TV go together so well. For example, I am watching some video, at that moment all the traffic on my PC slows down, because I'm using VPN. If I would have a smart TV, then I would be able to pause or stop watching video, while my VPN was still working. But I didn't find any smart TV with VPN function, yet. Any ideas how to get VPN on smart TV?

Re: Where is VPN on smart TV? I would like to buy a smart TV. I am not so sure if this will help me with some other things, but it will be much easier to control the whole household from a remote PC. It will be great if I can control the TV from a remote PC and also have access to all the files on my hard drive or on the cloud, like my pictures.

Well, it is easy to control the whole household with a smartphone or a tablet. Also, there is no need to have all the stuff on a PC, if you are not so sure about it, just use a remote PC to control everything. And by using a PC you will be able to do everything that is possible in a smart TV. There is no point to buy a smart TV if you are not going to use it for other things than watching TV.

I am currently thinking about buying a smart TV, but I am not sure if I will have some problems with VPN. Currently I am using VPN only on my PC and it is working fine.

How do I change my VPN on my smart TV?

Can anyone help me?

I am completely clueless about this. I do have a workaround for my own smart TV. It doesn't look much better than the picture here, but at least I can see the menu etc. And the whole setup process was quite easy, actually.

The first thing you have to do is to connect your LG TV with your WLAN hotspot (or laptop, if you prefer). After that, go into the app and set up your connection. Then you can use your LG TV like any other "smart" device. For me, it also required me to change some settings in the LG web browser, because the "save cookies" option isn't shown on the main menu in my case.

And finally, you have to select "wifi-off" when starting the tv again. That's important, if you want to be able to stream internet.

Of course, this is only useful if you are on the same IP network.

How do I disable my VPN?

How to block an IP from your network with iptables and netfilter.

If you are using the same router for your home network and for your work, you probably want to disable your VPN. It is usually not a good idea to have access to a whole company network from your home. You might use your work network as a proxy, but it is a bit risky if you don't know what you are doing.

It's quite easy to block your IP on your home network, but it is much more difficult to do the same thing on your work network. And this post is about how you can do that.

So here we go. The basic solution. Use iptables. It's quite easy to do. There are plenty of tutorials on the web, so I'll try to be short.

First, you need to make sure you have the correct version of iptables.9.26.1.4.21: security module iptables loaded
Iptables v1.21: Applying filter rules iptables v1.21: IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=192.168.178.101 DST=192.100 PROTO=TCP DPT=3338 OPTIONS=OUT
Ok, the version is fine. Now, you need to create an iptables rule for your IP. For example, we will only allow connections from our internal network: iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp -s 192.0/24 --dport 3338 -j ACCEPT Now, we need to make sure that the IP address is available for our system to receive packets. This means that we should make sure that the interface is enabled for IP forwarding: echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ipforward. At this point, our IP address is free. If we make an outgoing connection from our PC, the IP address will be allocated to the outgoing packet.
