Who is the provider of InvizBox VPN?

InvizBox is an Open Source and Free Software project created in Germany.

We are volunteers who like to support each other. We have no profit motive!

Where does InvizBox VPN get its money? InvizBox is sponsored by donations and advertisements! As a non-profit project we receive no money at all for our services or product. Only a small amount of our costs come from the salaries of the invizbox team. The rest of the company has to come from our sponsors. This includes the money we pay to the service providers, hosting and the advertising costs. Every sponsor, however, pays us a specific amount depending on their size. It is all clearly disclosed. We are an open company. No secret agreements!

Who owns the company behind InvizBox VPN? The main technical and legal owner of the company is the person with the main domain invizbox. We operate the company, including the server infrastructure and technical side, from there. We are always ready to hand it over to a trusted user if he wishes to run invizbox.org instead.

The legal owner is Martin Gies, founder and developer of InvizBox. The servers are hosted by a provider located in Dresden, Germany. The domain is a German registered one with Martin Gies, developer of InvizBox as the sole proprietor.

I found an IP Address when I visited InvizBox. Why isn't this illegal? Even though you are able to find an IP address of the website you visited using your internet browser (eg Chrome) it is not a direct proof of identity. Using a VPN or proxy is much more robust and secure. If the VPN provider keeps track of the clients visiting their websites, your IP will be masked.

Is it possible to hide my location while using InvizBox VPN? InvizBox is not just a VPN, but also a proxy server. InvizBox helps you to bypass internet censorship or geo-restrictions, as well as to access geo-blocked websites. With the InvizBox VPN app and web page you can be sure that no one is listening and tracking your location.

Can you connect a VPN to your router?

Yes, you can connect a VPN to a wireless router (or Ethernet router) and then share a network to both the wireless network and the internet through your VPN server. You'll need to configure your wireless router to work with your VPN first and make sure that both the VPN client and your wireless router are on the same subnet. Then, you'll be able to access your home network as well as the internet through the VPN and your home network.

What is the difference between InvizBox 2 and go?

InvizBox is a live recording of the output of an inviz-display.

It is a very special device (see what we wrote about it here). If you have go? it makes sense to add go? to InvizBox. If you have both in use, inviz? will switch over to watch/record the output from your inviz-display. Please consult our help document for the details.

Why do I get a "go" sound each time I press the inv? command now (when I used to get a "go" every two pages)? Is there something wrong with the way this works? If you read up on it and found that it doesn't make sense for you to spend time getting this functioned correctly, or you just don't want to bother, then that's fine. However, if you want to change that, then you can. In fact you're going to be doing this more and more as other people discover the command and start using it all the time. What's annoying is that there's no direct setting to change the behavior as there is for other commands, which we think is quite strange.

What I recommend is that you start out by pressing Ctrl, Shift, or Arrow key as fast as you can, but stop when you get to the "go" sound. Then you go to the tabbox and try it again (you might need to make an adjustment). Keep slowing down until you get to the sound, and this time when it comes up, hit your Escape key, then return to the menu with Ctrl, Shift, or Arrow key and then Ctrl, Shift, or Arrow key to change it back (if you did it right you should be able to get back into the menu without going to the tabbox). Then try it on another box, and do that procedure there.

I was having a weird problem with my inviz? and the go? command where some pages would record really loud, and then others would appear at lower volume than the rest of the audio and they would often not sync up. It seems like some pages were getting their audio from an inviz-display, so they were recording a lot more volume. Since we changed how the audio is recorded, if there's any page that's having a problem just change it to inviz? If it doesn't work then you should open a ticket.

What routers support a VPN?
