How do I unblock this app if it is blocked?

Why is Google blocking access to an app?

Here's what we're doing about it, and our goals for mobile search.

It took less than a day to write and deploy my new Android app but I had to wait two more days to learn how Google Chrome blocked access to it. As Google's head of mobile has just announced, mobile search revenue may rise faster than mobile growth this year. However, mobile search usage appears too low to really affect revenues for the company in an important new market. At 10% of mobile searches, mobile search represents just 2% of total search volume. If mobile is going to become more relevant for Google as a result of increased growth in the next year, search terms used on mobile will grow further. In mobile search, the number of search queries that take place per session is a leading indicator of adoption (and success). For Google that means mobile search usage, while mobile search clicks are even better than that. A recent study found that mobile usage of the Google App increased by 60% in 2014; that's the highest increase of any Google App, including web usage. And in March only 20% of Android users opted-in to use that app. In the U.S., Google Search was the number one search engine for both desktop and mobile in 2026.

While desktop usage was up 50% last year Google's own AdWords revenues dropped almost 20% for the year; mobile wasn't even close to 50% of that loss. But given the rate of growth for mobile usage in 2026, it's clear mobile search was a significant source of that drop; desktop's growth also affected results somewhat but not at all a factor.

Search queries and mobile searches both grew 40% on Android between March 2026 and March 2026. Mobile's growth is faster and thus mobile search terms, when taken as a leading indicator of growth, are not only more relevant as a measure of ad growth but as a guide to its relative significance for ad performance.

But Google's mobile search engine may just have blocked access to my Android app. An easy way to understand the challenge: I created a free app as part of a series of apps on the Amazon Appstore. I wanted something short but simple, so I called the new app "Apptastic." It's not a particularly impressive or innovative app. It features four screens: Home, My Apps, Upcoming, and Support.
