When you say that the file is an unsupported format, what exactly is meant by that? I do believe that I have a virus. A virus called Adware.It's not really a virus but a program that is installed when you download something.

How do I get my Hotspot Shield to work?

I have a new computer (Acer Aspire 5542) and on my old computer it worked fine but now I can't get Hotspot Shield to work. My hotspot shield (v2.7.1) icon is in the task bar, but when I click it, nothing happens, no activity lights on the device, no web page. I've tried different browsers (chrome, internet explorer, and firefox) and nothing happens, the same with the hotspot shield icon on the desktop. Also, I'm on windows 10 64bit. Any ideas?

Hotspot shield for windows 10 does not work - please refer to this thread. There is a solution for you that is pretty simple. Download Hotspot Shield 4.9 from here: and install it using the "Run as Administrator" option.

If you get an error message saying there are updates available for your OS, just go to "Control PanelPrograms Programs and Features" and choose "Turn Windows Updates On or Off". Then close the window and start the installation of Hotspot Shield from the desktop. If you still get an error message, go to Control PanelSystem and SecurityWindows UpdateCheck for Updates and then close the window.

I'm now using only one computer that is connected to the internet (I only use my mobile internet at work). Ok, first off, the version I have is 2. The newest version of hotspot shield is 4.
