How to bypass Amazon Prime VPN detection?

Why is Amazon blocking VPN?

Amazon is blocking VPNs in its app store and the App Store's curated section.

by Michael Fertik. The App Store has long been an Apple tradition, providing a wide variety of apps for both desktop and mobile platforms. In 2024, it became clear that VPN apps were being blocked in the same way as other apps such as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) and malware, making it an obvious target for Apple.

There are quite a few different theories as to why this is happening, with a lot of support coming from a single theory called Fake Signing. However, it's not entirely clear what the purpose of such a system is, especially when one would think that the whole point of blocking the apps would be to block them from making money on the App Store.

I've long had an interest in this subject. I've had a few accounts blocked by Apple and Amazon at various points throughout my career, and more often than not, they were VPNs that have been known to generate some controversy.

As a result of my research into the subject, it seems to me that there is only one reason to block VPN apps, and that reason seems to be completely inconsistent with the intentions of the Apple and Amazon App Stores. That reason is to reduce competition among apps, which is not good for any of us.

The issue of blocking VPN apps has been brought up recently in regards to both Apple and Amazon. For example, it was reported that the Apple App Store blocked around 300 VPN apps after first releasing them in September 2024, and the Amazon App Store only allowed the following 7 VPN apps to be installed: ExpressVPN. NordVPN. CyberGhost. Hotspot Shield. VyprVPN. Private Internet Access. Hide.me I've personally had 4 VPN accounts blocked on Apple and 2 VPN accounts blocked on Amazon in the last 2 years alone. One of those accounts was mine, and I've been blocking VPNs as a hobby for over 3 years now.

So far, it's been clear that Apple has a better record of keeping apps from generating fraudulent revenue. However, it should be noted that the company also takes a large cut from the revenue that is generated by apps.

In fact, according to AppStoreRatings.

Why does Amazon Prime say I am using a VPN but I am not?

I have a VPN to protect my network, but I understand that they don't need this or can even know what I do with it.

Can someone explain why Amazon.com/VF-VPN-AmazonBasics/dp/B00K2ZL8OU says that I am using an IP blocking VPN?

You're right, Amazon probably knows (based on cookies). However, the IP address doesn't say anything about the type of VPN you use. In a browser, even though most websites can tell which type of VPN you use based on the address you get when you navigate to the website, the browser is still in charge. Your VPN could be any type of VPN (even a completely different type), it could be no-login as opposed to logins, it could be just the standard client software installed by default on most computers, it could be a very lightweight version of software. It is possible Amazon has some very specific knowledge about one type of VPN (and how it works) that they monitor (or more likely, uses third-party tracking companies like Google Analytics). It is also possible that their monitoring of your browsing history indicates an entirely different type of VPN from what you are actually using.

But if you want to have a VPN without any knowledge of you being tracked, you need to remove the data from your browser. You could try changing the proxy settings in your browser, such as Firefox, Chrome, etc. (or disable it and use a program like Privoxy that does the same thing, but doesn't leave any evidence of anything.) You can also use NoScript to stop script-injected content. And you can install a good VPN service to have a completely anonymous browsing experience (although it'll cost money).

How do I turn off VPN or proxy?

I want to download files through a proxy or VPN but it never takes place.I want to turn off VPN or proxy as for certain websites it wont connect.I have tried setting browser settings but it doesnt help even if I disable it.It makes me sad that its so difficult for us.Its making some of us look very suspicious because I have many people downloading for me and when they cant download, they go to an alternate place to download from, in the hopes that they might get the files but unfortunately this is not always the case. I just want to understand this, and so that one day you can answer "yes" or "no" to this question as easily as it was before.Thanks.

Re: How do I turn off VPN or proxy? What if instead of turning off your "network connections" you put these two lines in your hosts file. That way you will never have to "turn off" anything. It's easy to use (scroll down) to create a hosts file. Then when you are done creating the new hosts file (or replacing the old one), click the little yellow button to "upload" your host file. Once that's done, your computers "hard drives" will no longer see "http" or "https" as being "the web". Instead it will see the file that is hosted on your system as being the "web"--or at least your "system".

You could change all that back if you were to want to later, but remember that it's good to have those two lines in there in the first place, just in case the computer ever does break or you lose it's hard drive (and you only know this now right? ). Try uninstalling any application you installed which automatically downloads files to your system. Do you have a firewall (if your using Windows I recommend the software ZA). Turn that on if you do. What version of windows is it on? Do you have your ISP set to auto select DNS servers (on windows)? How about unchecking "Auto detect network proxy" (windows).
