Why can't I open links in apps on my iPhone?

How do I force links to open in app on iPhone?

I have a link to an app, which works on Android and iOS.

However, on iOS I'm having issues with links opening the browser instead of the app.

For example: On my Android I can tap the link and it will open the app (I'm using Chrome). On iOS it will open the browser.

If I click the link in a web page, it will open the app. What are the steps I need to take to make this work? Go to the link in your Safari browser, right click and select Open in app.

All of my apps are listed in the Apps tab in the general settings. However, whenever I tap an app icon from the Apps tab, the app never opens a web page; it just does nothing. Any ideas why?

Is this for all apps or just for certain apps? Also, is there any way to make the Apps tab work like it used to? For what it's worth, apps don't need to be in the Apps tab to support web browsing; they just need a URL scheme to open pages. For example, VNC Viewer supports web-browsing because its URL scheme is "vnc://".

What seems to be the problem here is that, apparently, one of your apps is missing the required URL scheme for it to function properly. The reason you can still load the app is probably due to App Store optimization -- Apple isn't going to make apps crash, which is why they don't throw errors if you try to load them from within other apps.

Thank you for the information! It seems that it's something I did; however, I thought that I already had the URL scheme for most of my apps (including VNC Viewer) already. I have everything properly registered, and it doesn't show up in the "Open in." tab.

Thanks again for the answer. For some reason I don't understand, the Apps tab no longer works; so, it's gone. The only option now is to move everything back to the "Other" tab, which defeats the purpose of grouping all of my apps by functionality.

I wonder what causes this?
