How do I remove proxy authentication?
I use a web proxy that asks for username and password to connect.
The proxy can be accessed through the Tor browser.
Is there a way to get rid of proxy authentication? You can either: Install HTTPS Everywhere. This will force your browser to always use SSL connections even if a server doesn't offer SSL connections. But in practice, it doesn't actually do anything yet most websites still don't offer SSL connection.
Download a third party HTTPS wrapper like HTTPS Proxy or Privoxy. Or just disable the SSL certificate checking of your browser and hope that no SSL certificate is set that cannot be trusted by your browser (thereby being forced to use an explicit proxy or configure one yourself).
How do I remove an IP proxy?
I have a Windows 10 machine that's been blocked from some sites, even after I tried to add an IP proxy.
The problem is my computer's internet connection uses an IP proxy that's set in the OS, but I need to be able to disable this for my browser.
Microsoft Internet Explorer uses a special feature of Windows to allow or disable the use of proxy servers when browsing the web. This can be disabled by going to Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > LAN settings > Proxy > and clicking the Disable button. You can also enter 127.1 (localhost) to test the connection.
How do I completely remove proxy settings?
I have tried removing the proxy address, the proxy port, turning off networking on system preferences/network but I still have to use the proxy.
It is a windows 10 machine.
Note: I have tried using cmd prompt which does work but it doesn't update correctly. So any other solution that lets me know how to completely remove the settings would be helpful.
System Specs: Windows 10. I am using Safari on this. But in Chrome I get the error below.
Ok guys I found a solution but its kinda hackish (and its not good for privacy for one) as I had to delete the proxy information on my Windows account details as well. Open your browser to google.com with a normal ip and it will force a web server to send itself to the router and you can see in the url bar, this line looks something like this : ::1 google.com
If you google : whatis::1 you'll see the answer ! :P. This is your IP and this line is your Proxy Address (which is the same). You need to delete everything after . If you already have a google.com page load you will then have no internet connectivity because there is no proxy on the url line which is why we can't really set one directly.
