What is the ASN number of IP address?

What is AS numbers?

AS numbers are used to track how many people use the service of a specific public transport network.

AS numbers are issued to each of the individual bus or rail operators of the respective networks.

What are AS numbers used for? AS numbers are used to help track and monitor the flow of passenger traffic on specific routes. They can be used to determine how many passengers use specific services, which makes it easier to identify whether or not services are used effectively.

A bus company that operates a bus route will issue AS numbers to the individual operators who use the route. The company then calculates how many people use each operator's service to determine whether or not their services are used effectively.

How do I find out about AS numbers? Find out more about the different services on the Victorian public transport system at My Trains Online. If you're interested in finding out more about AS numbers, you can call our AS number enquiry centre on 13 18 27 or visit us online. What about AS numbers for school buses? Yes, all bus companies are required by law to issue AS numbers to students who use their services. It's important for school bus services to AS number students so they can be tracked to determine the effectiveness of their services.

What is the ASN number of IP address?

There are no official ASN numbers for IPs; they are just a label used to identify the range of IPs.

The first block of IP addresses reserved for private use by the IETF and for private use by research labs is between 10.0 and 10.255. The remainder of the range is available for use by end-users organizations.

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) does not allocate specific ASN numbers for IPs. Instead, it reserves specific ranges of IP addresses for private use. Those private IP ranges are in blocks of 32 IP addresses, numbered from 0 through 31. These private IP ranges are called "Private Use" because they are reserved for private use by organizations. You cannot use any IP address in a private range. An organization has to request an IP address in a private IP range and have a use-case for that IP address.

IANA also reserves a single IP address for the "Loopback" address. Loopback is a special IP address with the same host and network numbers as your own IP address. Loopback is for testing and debugging only. When you want to test your network configuration, you don't have to set up a new virtual machine, you can just turn on your router and use loopback to test your configuration.

It's important to remember that these IP addresses are assigned for private use only. If you try to use one of those addresses for something other than testing, your ISP could very well cut off your Internet access.

ASNs are actually pretty meaningless. The main reason I can think of for them would be to track whether a network is using a private IP address or not. But otherwise, they're pretty meaningless.

So no, there is no ASN for an IP address.

If I have an application pool with 1 website running under Classic .NET, can I get an "as" (assess) count from a site? Or if this does not exist, does that mean that I will have to get a load balancing box to get access to those stats. I am trying to determine which port does most of my requests come from As far as I know it's only available if you are using an app gateway which is configured to have statistics information (which I think is not the case as you mentioned). For the web applications (Classic or .Net), I don't think you have any such information so it's not available from the application unless you have specifically integrated it (for example with IIS Metrics collection).

You also have a "process" counter which gives you detailed information (like process started/process terminated). However, it requires a more specific configuration.

I don't think you would need external load balancing as long as you have some good server side statistics on your server.
