How do I connect to Psiphon through HTTP proxy?
I have Psiphon account with username and password, and when I try to connect (from my phone via adb or directly from PC) I see just "connecting." message for ~20 seconds, than message saying I need to use HTTPS proxy server through which I have to specify only one http proxy port and then I'm "inside" Psiphon.
How to connect to Psiphon without such message and in HTTPS protocol? I mean to connect to Psiphon through HTTP proxy using the same proxy port as psiphon uses for HTTP and using my proxy credentials (username/password) . For other proxies I need special methods but not for HTTP. So how it can be made? How is it possible using HTTPS and HTTP protocol? Or are there any other better ways to use that app
You will need to use proxy authentication. You can get full information on it here: I would recommend going to the site in a browser with HTTPS. To do this open Psiphon on your computer or mobile device. Go to Settings -> Network Settings and choose to use a HTTP proxy.
Select an appropriate port (eg, 8080). For proxy authentication, you will need to create and save a password for the proxy. Click Save Password.
Your proxy will now be available in Psiphon's settings. Now, if you are connecting to the internet using WiFi and you did not configure a proxy in your network settings, set a proxy using the configuration steps we had mentioned before. You can also type www.google.com into the address bar of a browser on your device. Do note that in this situation, you should be logged into the device via the web browser rather than through Psiphon's settings.
What is the proxy address for Psiphon?
Proxy addresses are used by Psiphon to make your internet traffic anonymous.
The proxy address is not visible in any way to the user, but rather it hides your real IP address and forwards your internet traffic to Psiphon's servers.
Why should I use a proxy? If you are using Psiphon's services, you may have heard of the term free speech zones. These areas where, as a citizen, you are restricted in what you can say online. If you are using Psiphon's service, you are not restricted from speaking freely. Your real IP address is not visible to your ISP, and Psiphon's servers will not see any identifying information about you.
What is a proxy? A proxy is a service that provides an easy way for a person to access the internet using a different IP address. For example, a proxy server may appear to be located in Toronto, Canada while your IP address is located in New York, USWhen you connect to the proxy server, your real IP address is hidden from the server, and instead, the proxy server forwards your internet traffic to the server in Canada.
How do I know which proxy address to use? It's important to know that not all proxies are created equal. Psiphon provides the following recommendations when choosing a proxy: The proxy must be free and open source. The proxy server must be open to the public. The proxy must not be a tracking proxy. The proxy server must not be a blacklisting proxy. The proxy must not be a censorship proxy. How do I choose a proxy address? You need to pick a proxy address that meets these criteria, and one that is available to you. You will not be able to connect to a proxy that is only available to those who are located in certain countries or in certain geographic locations.
Free and open source. All of the proxies on the Psiphon website are free and open source. This means that you can verify the source code of the proxy to ensure that it is a trustworthy proxy, and that it does not log your IP address or censor your internet traffic.
Open to the public. All of the proxies on the Psiphon website are available to anyone with internet access.
How do I enable HTTP proxy settings?
(I'm running windows 7 and I'm using chrome with a proxy for http). When I run firefox, it does have the option to use a proxy server. If I run firefox through putty, how do I set the proxy? I don't want it to be the machine's proxy server for outside connections. Just the traffic in and out of the browser
Thanks. Open System Settings: System > Advanced > Network Connections, select Properties for your Internet connection (like wired) and click on IPv4. Change the Properties of your IPv4 properties tab.
Under Proxy Tab: add two entries, one for HTTP and another for HTTPS. Set them to your needed HTTP/HTTPS servers in your local network.
If you would like to use the same IP settings for both HTTP and HTTPS, in the HTTP servers box, select use this connection only and use the IPv4 settings from the properties of the connection.
How do I fix Psiphon proxy error?
Psiphon is a free proxy service that allows users to browse the internet anonymously.
It uses a 'virtual tunnel' method of hiding your IP address, and also encrypts your internet connection so that your internet activity can be safely accessed by any device anywhere. It is available in several languages including English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Russian, Czech, Polish, Korean, and Japanese.
Psiphon is provided by Psiphon Inc, and was originally released in 2024. The original version of Psiphon was based on the open source code of 'The Onion Router' or Tor. However, the developer decided to make it his own, and has since developed Psiphon into a full-fledged privacy tool.
Psiphon is available for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android. It is available for free on all platforms, and it is completely free to use. However, when you sign up for an account, you will be asked for some personal information such as your name, email address, birth date, gender, and your location.
The basic usage of Psiphon is fairly easy to figure out, as it works in the same way as a VPN service, or a virtual private network. It allows users to browse the internet anonymously, so that they are not tracked or recorded. The anonymity of Psiphon is maintained through a virtual tunnel, and the end user has no idea that Psiphon is there.
How Psiphon Works. Psiphon is a proxy service, so users can access websites anonymously by using Psiphon to route their traffic through a series of servers that act as a proxy server. This allows the user to connect to a website that they would normally visit with their regular web browser. Psiphon works by establishing a secure connection to an upstream server, and then relays the data packets back and forth between the user and the server. Psiphon uses Tor for this purpose.
This whole process is extremely difficult for people to understand, and this is why Psiphon has developed several methods of providing this service. Psiphon provides tutorials for both new and old users, but if you're not sure how to get started, then we have a step-by-step tutorial below to help you out.
