Does hotspot change IP address?

I installed the hotspot for 2 days now, at first I was using the IP address 192.

168.5.254 but after 5 days of usage, I noticed the IP changed from that address to 192.7 and that also affects my wireless connection. I tried logging on with the new IP and it was no go, when I went back to use the old one everything went back to normal. Anyone?

You should be able to go back and forth between them by going into advanced properties in firefox and changing the hostname.

Does a Mobile Hotspot have an IP address?

I have a mobile hotspot that connects to a home router.

It has a static IP address. Is this an address for my computer, or is it for the phone? Does it make a difference? What happens if I try to ping it?

A "hotspot" device like a cellular modem does not provide any kind of IP addressing. It may provide a DHCP server, but that is not what you are asking about.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that it provides an IP address, but it does not.
