What cities are hiring for remote manual tester jobs?

It's not unusual for the majority of Americans to report they have never been asked about their gender identity.

A new study released today (Feb. 28) from the Center for American Progress (CAP) found that while most Americans say they support nondiscrimination laws protecting LGBT people from discrimination, a majority also believe transgender people should be able to use the restroom that matches their gender identity rather than their birth gender. The report, Hate and Transphobia: Trans Americans' Experiences in Everyday Life, provides an in-depth look at how transgender people are treated across the country. The research reveals that transgender people face numerous forms of discriminationfrom being denied access to health care to being subject to harsh housing laws and being fired from jobsas well as instances of violence, both physical and verbal.

While not a perfect measure, this report also indicates that transgender people face discrimination in virtually all sectors of the economy. Transgender people of color, in particular, experience discrimination across the board. Transgender women, on average, experience job discrimination at a rate seven times higher than their cisgender male counterparts.

While the report documents the vast amount of discrimination against transgender people, it also highlights the positive experiences they have had across the country, with many reporting feeling embraced by the community in their new hometowns. Many people are familiar with the notion that remote manual tester jobs are growing rapidly. What they may not realize is that the number of companies that are offering such jobs is growing, too. We've got a bit of a dilemma - we're looking to hire a remote manual tester for a long-term contract.

The project is already in the pipeline, and we're just looking for someone who's got some experience with remote testing. We've got the specs, and our client has supplied us with a list of remote testing tools and a bunch of software.

Thanks for the info, it looks like we'll be working with a tester in San Francisco who does remote testing, and I think I can work something out with him. It'll be a great learning experience for us as well as them, since we've never done this before either.

The biggest advantage of remote testing is the ability to work when it's convenient for you. That's why most testers don't work from home; it's not like it's cheaper or anything, but if you want to work at your own pace, and if you're tired or frustrated after a long day of work, working remotely is the best way to keep your sanity.

However, if you're getting paid for your work, you may find yourself having to work more hours than you'd like to. We have a client in the UK who wants us to work every other week, and I can't stand that; it's not a matter of being lazy or not willing to work, it's just that when I go home for a break, I'm not really in the right state of mind to work. I end up working really hard at the office the other day, and then I'm totally zonked out for a week and just can't muster the energy to do any work.
