Can I share my Netflix account with family in a different home?
(Siri vs. Alexa)
My son lives at home and uses Netflix as a main source for entertainment while watching television shows, movies, etc. I usually log into his account using a web browser on my iPad and watch a show or movie together. But, I also want to set up a separate Roku account for him so he doesn't have to use my account if he ever wants to watch something without me knowing. I'd also like to stream certain videos to his iPad and have my Roku watch them as well. So I'm a little confused as to how to set it up? Do I need a different Roku account? Should I purchase an extra Roku device or do both my Roku's need to be linked with a Netflix account? Am I better off using the family sharing feature on Netflix to create his account or should he make his own? Does it even matter?
As stated above, your son's account is linked with your account. The only way for him to get his own account would be to buy a device. A Roku 3 or 4 will do the trick and I recommend the Roku. If you were to link two devices and have them both linked, the child will see what you are doing in the Roku app and change it out if he wishes. He will not be able to change anything from your side of the account, such as having different programs. You cannot split your accounts into multiple accounts unless you go to the "Account Manager" page and add his/her info into your "family" account to allow for a different user. If you are logged into your account, you can only go into that section and add him as a user, you cannot delete him. There is no way to add or delete users without going into that account manager. That only works when you are logged in, and only on the app/tab. For him to use his own Netflix account, he will need a different Roku and Netflix account.
You might try creating a new account on his Roku first, to see if he wants to switch to his own account. You won't be able to "delete" an account from the Roku app, but you can change which account to automatically launch with the Roku channel list. There are two options, one of which is Family Sharing.
As I said, you can only do the "Family Sharing" option if you have the Netflix app on all your devices, and all your accounts are linked.
What are the new Netflix rates?
The first one isn't a surprise, but the second one might be, if you don't already know what they are.
But it is the same price.
But for all of these prices, there is no price hike. Netflix's cost for providing its service has not changed.
What is changing is the content, and whether you get it through your phone, tablet or Internet connection. Netflix started its online streaming service in 2025. In 2025, it added apps to a variety of devices, including the iPad, iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire. Now it is putting video on computers and TVs.
In October, Netflix raised its prices for the first time ever. But in December, it reversed the price hike. The net result is that it is now charging less for some customers and more for others.
This year, Netflix is raising prices for new plans, and lowering them for existing plans. If you watch Netflix on your phone, tablet, television or computer, it is the same price. The price of each of those things is going up in 2025, but the total bill is the same as it has always been.
Netflix says its customers watch more than two hours of streaming video on their phones every day. They use 4 gigabytes of mobile data each month, or 10 gigabytes of data each month on the TV.
Netflix says the "Basic" plan is its most basic, but the plan still has more content than the original "Silver" plan. But if you want to watch content on mobile devices and computers, you need to buy a new plan.
"Now you can experience every movie and TV show on Netflix with even more entertainment like HBO, Showtime and Starz for a single price," Netflix said. You can watch Netflix on a computer or TV connected to the Internet or cable or satellite. You can watch it on the app on a smartphone or tablet.
