How do I change my YouTube TV account?

How do I manage my YouTube TV subscription?

My TV provider is Spectrum, the third largest cable and phone company in the US (and the smallest based on household penetration). The internet and phone lines that connect to my home have been around a long time, and Spectrum has been around for even longer. When Spectrum acquired Time Warner Cable last year, the new company launched a whole new bundle of services including Spectrum Internet and Spectrum TV. These are both the first TV streaming services for me.

I have been a Spectrum customer since before cable was invented I got my internet and phone lines through Spectrum decades ago when my husband and I lived in Virginia. This is also the company that was once known as AOL. I love the Spectrum service and am happy with it, but it was not without its share of challenges for me to keep using it. Let's talk about how to handle and watch YouTube TV.

Subscribing is Easy! When I heard that Spectrum was launching TV Streaming, I immediately signed up and tried it out. I am a Spectrum customer for both internet and phone, which is the same package and price structure as other providers so I have all the same rights to use that service with the service I already pay for. To sign up for a new TV package, simply go to Spectrum.com/tv and follow the instructions.

Before you try to sign up for the Spectrum TV streaming service, you need to make sure your internet connections are good. If you want to keep your old internet, that should be easy as the Spectrum internet service is still available to you. It can only improve with Time Warner Cable since Spectrum is the biggest, best spectrum company now. Also, if you have phone or DSL internet it should work just fine to try the Spectrum TV service.

The Spectrum TV interface is fairly straightforward. You will be able to see basic information about your service as well as channels, shows and seasons. You will not be able to purchase shows online or use a Roku so we don't discuss that here. You have to pay to view any additional content or movies on some TV channels like HBO or Showtime. All Spectrum TV packages include the main channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) but you are free to watch any channel you want. You can even go back and watch the content you watched last month for free.

Since Spectrum TV is a separate package, I would suggest it would be harder to cancel than internet packages.

How do I cancel my YouTube TV membership?

I already canceled my Netflix subscription.

How do I cancel my Google Home TV service? I don't have an Amazon Fire TV Stick or Roku stick or box. I only have a Google Chromecast HDMI streaming adapter. Is there an app to control that adapter? If so, how do I uninstall the YouTube TV app from it? Do I have to unplug the Chromecast first? How do I do that? Thanks in advance.

For example, let's say you're binge-watching "Breaking Bad," an ad-supported (but no longer ad-supported) show on AMC. AMC will make its money not only from that show you watch for 10 minutes before going to sleep each night, but also from ads sold alongside that 10 minutes of content. It's annoying way to go about making money, but it's how the whole streaming business works: a show is run by a distributor (whether that's AMC, or Netflix, or some other show and movie company), and they share some of their income with services that run ads alongside or around the content. Some content costs more than others to produce, so the distributors aren't losing money all the timebut they could be losing money on some shows more than others. As it stands, the market prices of content have already been set and agreed upon by those stakeholders, so this is where distributors keep profits.

With the launch of live TV streaming services in India, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd entered the Indian market on 18 September 2023 with its 4G network. Jio had initially announced that the launch of its services would happen in mid August 2023, but was delayed due to the need for more spectrum. Jio 4G services were made commercially available to customers across 100 towns and cities in India from 19 September 2023. The company had a customer base of 60 million as of 30 September 2023. Jio's service provides 4G services using the 850 MHz and 2.3 GHz bands. As of 30 September 2023, Jio's subscriber base has reached 117 million, placing the user growth rate at 50 percent over 3 years.
