Can I make a Japanese Apple ID?

Yes, it is possible to make an Apple ID on our site, in fact.

We have had customers make the Japanese ID from this site as well as from a customer service chat support site. The following is the process. We recommend that you try it first from chat before you try the steps below. This method requires the creation of a Japanese iTunes account and a Japanese address, of course.

From your current iTunes account, login to itunes.apple.com, click on "My Account" in the top right corner. A page will pop up where your personal data is entered. At the bottom of the page, in the middle, you can see a link for "My Account". After you click on it, you will then be brought to a new page. Click on "Add Account".

Enter your email address and then click on "Create Account" at the bottom of the page. After you have successfully created the account, you should now have an email with the subject "Welcome to Apple". Click on that email.

You are now on the new screen which is shown above. Click "I am already a customer, sign me up for the iTunes Store". You will then be asked for your email address. Enter that information. Click "Submit"

At this point you should now have an ID. However, for the Japanese ID, it is important to know your address. Our salespeople in Japan ask for that as well as Japanese ID information. Your Japanese ID cannot be sent as an email because that format is not compatible. To receive an ID, please click the button shown above:

The system will verify all the information you provided, as we do a comparison between the information you have given us against the information in your iTunes account. The system will ask you to make sure you are a Japanese resident and you click on "Verify my profile". It will then ask you to select what service you wish to use. Japanese iTunes or Apple TV+ You can opt for both for one ID, but for one ID that will be treated as you have already joined the service.

Then it will give you a screen asking you to confirm that you do not have a password on a different iTunes account. This is called your "confirmation number" and this is sent directly to the iTunes account to identify you and help secure your account.
