What is the difference between Graston and iastm?

The main difference is that graston is not for cosmetic use, and its not really suitable for all body parts.

iastm is a high definition skin tissue replacement, similar to synthetic skin grafts in which the skin comes from animal skin.

Graston has an almost 100% success rate, but the procedure is relatively expensive. Iastm is also available as a kit, and you can have it done at home, as long as the procedure is supervised by a physician. Graston has a higher success rate, and a smaller price tag.

With graston, the scar is about 1/3 of the size of your whole body. With iastm, the scar is the same size as a normal spot on the skin that has been injured, which is half of the size of the whole body.

The biggest drawback of both of these procedures is the high cost. Iestm is generally cheaper, but still a little more than graston. However, graston is more complicated, so you can spend as long as 4-5 hours in the doctors office.

I'd suggest comparing the prices of both procedures before deciding what is right for you. There are other types of tissue grafts, like bovine collagen, which is much cheaper, but they have a lower success rate.

My experience has been similar to most. Both of them worked great, but iastm is superior. I would say if you are really wanting to avoid a scar, then iastm is the way to go.

I read on iastm's website that it is similar to synthetics for the hands and face. Is this true? If so, does iastm work better for these areas? Does it work for other areas of the body too? Sorry, I just saw this post. My mother used iastm last year for a large tumour on her foot that they told her was terminal. We took her to a doctor in America who said he could do better than graston, but it was a huge surgery. The doctor told us not to expect her to be walking for a year. She is no longer with us. We can't believe this. I would love to know if there is any kind of guarantee. I have also read about how some people develop a rash that doesn't go away.

Do you have to be certified to use Graston tools?

Answer: Graston products are sold under a distribution agreement with Buehler, which is the distributor in the United States and Canada.

In some other countries Buehler may be the sole distributor for Graston tools.

In most cases it is not necessary to be certified by Graston to use Graston tools. However, before performing treatment with a Graston tool on a tooth or implant that has root canal therapy (RCT) in progress, you should determine that a dentist or prosthodontist has certified you to use Graston tools. Certification is the responsibility of the dentist or prosthodontist. It is your responsibility to determine if the dentist or prosthodontist is certified to use Graston tools and to contact him/her to obtain this certification.

If you are a general dentist or dental hygienist, then you may not be certified to use Graston tools. If you are a prosthodontist or periodontist, you may not be certified to use Graston tools. In these situations, the Graston distributor should direct you to a qualified practitioner that is certified to use Graston tools.
