Is Surfshark hard to cancel?
I've been with Surfshark for over a year now.
The free account is very limited (no credit card usage, no chat, no free phone numbers) and I use it mainly as a free email account. Recently the "Upgrade to pro" option has appeared (I thought it was an old account upgrade option). I upgraded the plan as soon as I saw it (not sure if this is the right way of doing it) but I am still on the free plan.
The problem is that when I try to cancel my account I get an error message that says: "There has been a problem with your account and it is no longer active." If I don't try to cancel, the option appears again, and the free account is still active.
I had not heard of Surfshark before I saw a thread where someone asked about a similar problem with another service. They are a new company, so I can understand it might be hard to track down a refund. But they have a number of complaints about this, so I thought I'd see if there were any updates.
It's been a few months since I logged into my free account to try out some features. I don't remember what I did or why I wanted to cancel, and I haven't tried to log back in to the free account. If I'm reading it right, it seems like the "cancel" button just doesn't work for free accounts.
My question: Is it possible for me to cancel my Surfshark account without having to pay for a full pro plan? Re: Surfshark hard to cancel? You can't cancel if you're in a free account. The only way to cancel is to request it to the support team. That's how they keep the free accounts active.
If you want to use it, then subscribe to a paid account. The free accounts are good for using one number and for testing the service without having to pay anything. If you want more features, then you should sign up for a paid account.
How do I cancel my Surfshark subscription?
You cancel your subscription anytime you want by going to or clicking the Manage Account button in the bottom right corner. If you've changed the phone number associated with your account, you will need to update it manually. The subscription will be cancelled in 90 days. You'll be notified and we'll send a confirmation email when it's been cancelled.

I think what I don't understand here is that there are some surfshark products with full refund if you change your mind.
But there are some which only offer partial refund or something? I am asking because as long as it is a product I bought and the product is no longer sold anymore, wouldn't it better if they offered more of the actual goods than just the money, or does surfshark do it because of "legitimacy reasons"? This is not the case. We have decided to provide surfshark services to the benefit of customers because were tired of receiving countless amount of refund requests that have nothing to do with the service.

Is it really not possible to open a thread about the refund issue. Is it really not possible to talk about their policies in a clear way to anyone willing to understand them. Do you consider that surfshark still offers a service to the majority of surfers, even if not all surfers can get a refund. I mean, it's not all just a matter of getting money.
I know this post is from a long time ago but as far as I know, they are working on the process.
