Is Chrome Remote Desktop still available?
Can someone help me please!
Google Chrome's remote desktop is still available to us or is it dead? I tried using it this morning and nothing happened. I've already looked for an update for that (I think I installed the Remote Desktop extension when it was beta). So, I thought I'd ask the same question as above: "?", because a lot of people, including me, depend on it.
As far as I know, Google does not give remote desktop access to users, but rather creates a customised VM. They seem to use this when accessing a site to which they would otherwise be refused access. For example, when the browser cannot send POST information to a site.
I am not in Google's team and this is merely my guess. In all likelihood, you're using an older version of the Chrome Remote Desktop extension that has not been updated to match the new VMs. You can also check the update details from the link in my post at the top of this topic. As mentioned, we do not support custom VM's. Instead, we would create an unencrypted tunnel between a device and our servers. We have a lot of information on our help center which may be of some help.
The first page says, "There are no known issues with Remote Desktop access." If you think it has stopped working, please fill in a report about this as well as the issue that you are experiencing. Thanks.
Hi, I am not sure what happened, but after I restarted my computer, I found that Remote Desktop is working now. You can still create a tunnel, but there are no reports on "no known issues" as of yet, and that may because I haven't really been using it long enough to see if there was an issue. It's definitely worth a try.
I hope this message will arrive in the right inbox. If so, I just reported that I experienced one of the many bugs that have plagued the last few weeks. Please have a look.
I would love to say thank you for all the work you guys do! I can only think how much your developers must have worked on Chrome Remote Desktop. I am grateful for all their effort. As a result, today I use Remote Desktop daily.

For the developers, the Chrome Remote Desktop works in almost the same way as a remote desktop application available through Windows (built-in desktop). There are several reasons why a remote desktop application is useful for developers. Ease of use.
